Does anyone stictly use wee pads? And if so did you eventually move to a litter box?

I only used the wee wee pads, and take her out. I havent used the litter box.

I don't have a yorkie yet, but when I do I'm going to use we we pads exclusively, and I'm thinking of putting one in a litterbox ( I heard that the puppy litter is actually a nightmare). If you go onto petedge.com you can get like 200 we we pads for really cheap. Of course this is my plan, I don't know how it will work in reality. If you're worried about smell, you can get petscents in vanilla or something to mask any smells and if you don't want to look at the we we pad, you can put it in the litter box and kind of hide it somewhere (in a corner behind a fake plant?) that is also easily accessible for the pup. Again, this is just a plan in my head for now until I get a pup, but I thought it might help.

We only use wee pads unless we are out somewhere. (she "will" go outside) The problem with petedge is their shipping rates are so high

I have tried a few different pads. We use small cheap unscented ones in the kitchen and change more often. (they are actually bed pads for humans) Her other potty spot is in our room in her expen. I like the large puppy size ones from Target best.

Never used a litter box.

Maggie is completely against them. However, recently, when we leave the apartment we've been putting her in the kitchen. We put a wee pad down in the corner thinking, "she prob. wont use it, but at least we tried". To our surprise, if she has to go when we're gone... she'll go on it. The only thing i can think of is that she really likes peeing on the carpet... it's soft and warm compared to the tile. Soooo, her only option besides tile in the kitchen is the pad. I wish I could use them all the time, because my life would be much easier. I just can't make her understand it except for when she's locked in the kitchen.

We tried litter box training and our dogs never got it so now we put a peepad in the littebox.

Cali who is 19 weeks uses the Jump Start pads from Petsmart, but they are so expensive. I have one in her dog playpen which is in my bedroom, that she uses 90% of the time and has been since I got her at 9 weeks. The playpen has a front flap that I keep open during the day and she just hops in and uses it most of the time. I also keep one in a pad holder in the dining room, we don't eat in there, and she will run to that if she is in that part of the house. I have not had any problem with the smell I change 2-3 times a day. They are convenient but expensive. I hope to train her outside after the winter. My pom goes in a fenced area off the sliding glass door outside but Cali will go out and sniff but will not go outside.

we tried to strictly use the wee wee pads but it's really hard when we're at work all day. at first we would come home at lunch but it really puts a strain on time. seems like Vinnie will use it when we're not at home but when we are here he likes to go on the stairs. at night he sleeps with us on the bed and if we happen to wake up he will use it then as well. i kinda of like him sleeping with us because if he has to go he will go to the edge and cry a little. but it seems like we are heading to outside. he really likes the long walks and accidents are happenning less frequently. i want to try the bell method so he can let us know when he wants to go.

Punkin uses wee wee pads and goes outside... I get the wee wee pads from ebay they sell 300 for 30 dollars.. and shipping is like 12 bucks..

They are a lil thinner then the regular wee wee pads but they work just fine...As for the litter box...we have that also...she goes in it..but eats
the litter..so we ditched that idea...

I still have one that is 4.5 months (Layla) She is tiny and can't go far as her bladder is so little...so wee pads are great.They like to go outside and prefer that but the wee pads are fine for in the house when they don't have someone to take them out. Layla can't hold it all night.

Roxy cries in the morning to go out as she does not like to BM in the house. But other than that she will use a wee pad if need be.

I have them available in the far part of the kitchen (will be moved to the back door after my scottie is out of heat) and in their X-pen.

I get them on Ebay as well...but watch for the shipping on some of the auctions.

Deb and Maya use strictly wee wee pads. They are both little and still training, but doing really well. I tried the litter, but they played with it and ate it! I also attempted to put a pad in the litter box, and although they did use the pad, it also made it very tempting to play with the pad and shred it! I had been buying the pads at Petco, but last night bought a bigger pkg for less money at Wal-mart. I am not sure why...but they have shredded 4 of them already. Does anyone know...if I put a little bitter apple on the edges of the pad...would it deter them from using the pads in addition to deterring the chewing?
