| Molly is pooping on furniture! Ok so we have had sweet Molly for about 4 months. She is almost 10 months old. For the whole time we have had her she has never went to the bathroom on the furniture until recently She was spayed and then about a week later she started peeing on the bed and once on the couch. We thought she had a bladder infection because she was also going outside more than normal. She acted like she couldn't help it because after she would do it, she would look so ashamed. She is not the type of dog to do this out of spite. Well, after a round of antibiotics, she has went back to her normal schedule of going outside which is usually only 2-3 times per day but now she is pooping on the furniture! Once on the bed....and then the other night I was sitting on the edge of the couch and looked behind me and there is a nice little suprise waiting for me Yuck! It's like she is a toddler too busy playing to go potty or something. Why is she doing this after doing so well for so long? Is it normal for behavior to change after spaying? She used to wake me up at night to go out but now she just lets it go on the bed! She won't go in her expen at all, but our bed is fair game! I am going crazy. I swear she knows it is wrong because after she does it, she hides in shame.

| I'd have the vet check her over... if all is well, I'd start potty training over again... out to potty every two hours and maybe no bed at night till she regains control. Anything different going on at home?

| i can totally identify. My boy has done that. When he was little i let him sleep in bed w me, then he had some pee accidents and had to put him back in his bed which is on the floor by me. I thought it was that he was marking his territory or that he couldnt get ot of bed to potty. He has done number 2 on the bed a couple times and once on the couch. I thought the couch business was because my husband put our other dog a lhasa up on the couch (shes short and cant jump) aandi think he smelled her scent there and peed. Also he has this thing where he gets up on my treadmill and poos. I have no idea why. Hes potty trained, uses the pee pads all the time, but he just likes to go there.... I joke about it and say he uses the treadmill more than i do lol. But i swear i think some of it is spite. Whats odd about your story is that its your girl doing it. I dont know...suppose females sometimes mark too? If you find out why yours does it let me know! |

| one more thing... i mentioned that i think dogs do things for spite, my groomer told me that her shi tzu was potty trained but every day when she got home it would pee in the floor unless she gave it attention soon as she got home, if she did , it didnt do it. |
