| So Very Fragile! I was taking the dogs outside and as I opened the door, my two older dogs Candy (small Jack Russell) and Ben (male yorkie) must have seen or heard something as they sped off at sonic speed. As they did, they overran poor Annie, my new pup. She yelped and has been limping since. I have felt along the leg and she does not yelp when I gently push along it. But, if she is still limping by morning, she is off to the vet. Just goes to show how very delicate and fragile these little ones are. Candy and Ben have been extra gentle with her when playing, but as they got excited they completely forgot she was even there. I am not even sure which one hurt her -- it just happened in a flash. They both brushed past her but she didn't get trompled or anything. It doesn't take much with these little ones, though. Tiny little bones and tendons. I sure hope she is okay and nothing broken or hurt badly. She is the sweetest thing. Very much loves to be babied while she is hurting. It is the cutest thing. She just nuzzles me and looks pathetic. But open the treat bag and she can run on 3 legs pretty fast!

| I'm glad your Annie is o.k. That's why I have been so worried about my little Peanut. My girls are twice his weight and I get nervous when they play. |

| It's so scarey how fast things can happen! Hope she's feeling better as time goes on, but I'm sure she'll just love all the attention!

| I totally know what you mean! Khloe got hurt once, and it scared me to death... She was in my arms and almost on the way to the emergency vet before I decided to set her down to see if she could walk. Thankfully, she was fine... but geesh, they sure can scare you!

| Deb, How is Annie today? I just hope everything is ok. Just goes to show you that anything can happen no matter how careful you are.

| That happened once with my little girl shes tiny, and my male keno (a yr old) must have been playing a little to rough because she started limping, i watched her closely and by the end of the night she was running around as usual, just keep a close eye on her! |

| We had an awful accident once, one little girl fell and burst open her stomach and passedanother boy broke his leg and now only has 3, but he got adopted and has a very good home and I am happy about that, another boy something happened to, and he got very poor circulation and died. It was a very very sad time, and proves once again that these little babies are very fragile and shall be handled like a most precious treasure... |

| I am sorry I have not updated this thread! I almost forgot I had already posted this! Annie is still limping a little on and off but has improved so much, I kept her with me. She has an appointment tomorrow for her last puppy shots and I will have him take a look. But right now, I think she is going to be fine. She is putting her weight (all 2 pounds of it) on it here and there, so I see so much improvement I think she will heal fine without intervention. She is even going up and down her little puppy steps today, where last night she just looked at me, like "help!" She shows no pain when I gently press up and down from toe to hip. Nails look good, joints move without any discomfort. I will ask the vet about possible disk injury. That is what happend to my Jack Russell. She limped from time to time and we xrayed her whole body when she was in for dental. The leg and hip were perfect, no arthritis or anything, but he noticed two vertebraes too close together in the neck area. He said it wsa probably and old injury and when she is over-active, it gets inflammed causing her to limp. Don't want to have ot xray Annie, but I will see if he thinks it possible. Don't you just love puppies! I can't tell you what she does for me. She is just so sweet, so loving! Even hurting last night, she just was the sweetest thing ever!

| Just now seeing this thread.... So glad little Annie's doing better... They can easily get lost in the excitement of the older dogs.
