| New member hey there! My yorkie's name is Jack and I am a first time dog owner. Is it normal for Yorkies to shed? I thought they were "non-shedding" dogs. Jack is only 4 months old. Could this hair be puppy hair coming out? we keep him cut short, and there are black fluffy hairs everywhere. Any answers/advice? Jaximus |

| Welcome! I would take him to the vet. They normally dont shed. My jewels hair on herr back fell out when she was a baby and they did a skin scrape and checked for mites. They never did find anything and her hair grew back thicker than before.

| thanks for the comments! is there really such a thing as puppy hair after all? my husband is trying to convince me there is, but i think it's so i'll calm down. do your dogs shed? the hairs are just very fine black wavy little hairs, the same as the ones on his brush when i'm finished brushing. Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali is 19 weeks and I notice on a white pillow case that there are little black hairs. I don't get much off her when I brush her. I am taking her to the groomers today for the first time, wish me luck! and I will ask her. Welcome to YT. I am a newer member and the people couldn't be nicer and more helpful! |
