| Hi - New poster I've been reading the posts since right before I got my little girl, three months ago, and have learned a lot here. Her name is Abby, and she is 6 months old. This is my first dog (brought her home July 8th), and I love her so much. I am home all day with her, and we have formed quite a bond. I can't imagine having a more perfect dog - she is beyond wonderful and such a blessing! (I could go on and on about her). Anyway, my question is this: She got spayed last Wednesday, microchipped, had bloodwork, and some baby teeth pulled. By Friday, she was back to her old self. For some reason, she has really bad breath now?? This is new for her, and I'm wondering what is causing it? We noticed it on Friday, and it has persisted. Is it because she had some teeth pulled? It's not coming from her ears...it's definitely her mouth. Otherwise, she is fine. No signs of anything out of the norm for her, other than she had another tooth come out last night...I'm thinking this has something to do with it, but thought I'd ask the experts! Thanks, and God bless. |

| Welcome to YT!!! Can't wait to see pictures. As for the bad breath, when Sophie was losing teeth, her breath smelled really bad. That could be the reason for it.

| Hello and Welcome to YorkieTalk! I am not a health expert, so just advising to call your vet and find out why, since the teeth have already been pulled.

| Hello!! And Welcome to YT!! My Riley is about 5 1/2 months now... he has been losing teeth the past few weeks, and I have noticed in the past week or so that he is starting to lose his puppy breath. Fortunately he enjoys having his teeth brushed. I was doing it once a day but started slacking a little and that is when I noticed it was starting to be not so fresh. I started brushing daily, again and have had No Problems. |

| Thanks everyone! I do try brushing her teeth, but I do need to be more persistent when she resists...After that one tooth fell out a few nights ago, her breath has gotten better it seems. I do have pics of Abby in an album somewhere on here, but have no idea how to put a pic on this page (to the girl that said can't wait to see pics). I looked at a lot of everyone's photo albums last night, and all the pics are sooo sweet! |

| Welcome! The smell goes with losing teeth. Hopefully, brushing and using oral spray will keep her breath nice.
