| Crawling on Belly??? Hi guys I havent been on in awhile, But I have a question that I cant find an answer to. This is not Yorkie related but I cant find an answer anywhere else. Now my son got a pittbull mix puppy, the mother is pit and we think the dad was a lab. but anyway. she has been to the vet and is in very good health, she is 12 weeks old. But she does this army crawl thing..I have never seen a dog do this before. I dont know if she gets lazy..lol..but if she is laying on the floor and she sees a toy across the room that she wants. she will crawl to get to, I mean flat on her belly, legs extended behind her and pull herself with her front paws, its is the funniest thing I have ever saw..she is even getting a brush burn, from doing this..so anyone know why a dog would do this, And yes her legs and hips are fine..

| We had a lab that would do this to small children. As soon as they approached her she would get down and crawl towards them.(and stay down until they left)Magic had wonderful instincts. |

| I've known lots of big dogs, and most of them have done this. I think it is a submission thing or maybe it just feels good to them! |

| lol... my friend's chihuahua does that and I think it's so funny... I tried to teach my Oliver how to do it... he has his own version where he puts one side of his face to the floor, crawls with his front legs and walks with his back legs... Last edited by lexington316; 09-27-2010 at 08:27 AM. |

| Wrigley does this when she's hungry! She usually goes around in circles & then starts to crawl towards the kitchen!
