Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | peeing outside but pooping on the pad? So Poppy is doing well with her potty training. She is trained on the pee pads, I keep one at the back door and she will go to it by herself to go potty. I let her out in the garden every hour for potty and she will pee in the garden no problem, she will sit and look out the window when she needs to go out aswell. But she wont poop outside, when she needs to poop she goes straight to the pad and goes there instead of letting me know she needs to go outside. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? its strange.

| I would say she is getting it, give it some more time! Sounds good so far. when Copper started peeing outside, I knew I had it 1/2 way...the toosie rolls are easier to clean up and don't smell up your carpet so much!

| my girl does that too occassionally! I think it's mostly an indication that she wants me to change the puppy pad. lol

| Would you ever like for her to use the pad. mine is pad train and this is my first dog to have use of the pad and i like it. when it rain you don't have to worry about taking her out in the rain. and if your having to work late they have use of the pad. Good luck.. |

| It could well be that Poppy doesn't yet feel secure enough to poop outside. A dog is in a more 'vulnerable' position when pooping. I've had some pups that will pee just fine on the paper in the house but go find an out of the way spot to poop in. They outgrow this as they get more comfortable with their surroundings. Not strange at all....makes perfect sense from their point of view.

| My baby is 16 weeks and is doing really good with the potty training outside, but she will still pee on the pad inside but will wait til she gets inside to poo(not on the pad).I keep her out when i know she has to do it and walk around in the grass, but she only pees and wants to go back inside and then runs to a corner and poos.I'm thinking of completely eliminateing the peepad so she's not confused.Although they are very convenient in bad weather, when she don't want to do either outside.if she would do both on the peepad i would consider litter training her before the winter comes. |

| My little boy, Buzz, will pee and poo, outside...However, if it's raining, and he needs to go, he'll poo on the pad...I think that's great!!! My little chorkie, Cha Cha, prefers to pee and poo on the pad, but, will go outside, if she happens to be outside in her time of need...I think that's wonderful...My Apple will only pee and poo, outside, and if there is torrential rains, get the Nature's Miracle out (I have wood and tile, thank goodness) because it's going on the floor She's such a little toot |

| my Georgia will potty on the pad but then run into the other room when I'm not looking and poop in there.... but sometimes she is just fine and will eliminate on the pad. My dogs aren't let outside because the park I live in, doesn't know I have dogs. it's a freaking $300 non refundable per dog, plus $10 extra per dog on every month's rent. Not only that, but we can't leave them unattended outside and if they aren't on a leash outside we have to have a chain link fence up. So, more or less, I sneak them to the park via car, or sometimes they come outside with me in the back for a few minutes... I'm sneaky but I digress.... Yorkies are tough to train but it sounds like your baby is doing great!
