| I feel sorry that the man lost his wife, but i feel much more sorry for those poor dogs who have probably had 3 years of hell. His wife wouldnt be happy with the way the dogs have been treated. He should have surrendered them a long long time ago. Lets hope they soon find new loving homes.

| I read the article and I am so torn, first reaction is those poor dogs and horses but then I got to the part where he had lost his wife and it is kind of obvious he needs some help. My heart breaks for the little one they show on the website with so much hair you cannot see his face. I hope everyone, both human and canine involved gets the help they need.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | If you read the comments, there is someone who says his wife was a breeder and when she died he was left with 23 dogs. Can I ask a question without sounding like a smart ass? Why is he considered a hoarder, but she's given a pass as a breeder? No one, IMO, can give 23 dogs all the love, attention and care that they truly need. The dogs might have gotten vetted and groomed when she was alive, but did they get the one on one lap time and socialization that makes these dogs so special? Doubt it. That many dogs in anyone's home is a PACK, they aren't pets. As a pack, they might tolerate the presence of a person because they give them food, but I don't believe any of these dogs can live up to their full potential in a situation like that. At what point does a person cross over to being a hoarder?

I think the difference is.... a hoarder has a an illness and a breeder/greeder does not. Most of the hoarders I've seen on the recent tv shows don't purposely breed and sell the dogs.....they might allow breeding, but would keep the puppies that result from the breeding(s)....a breeder/greeder can't wait to get them out the door and the money in their pockets.
