| Toe nail torn??!!! So Sadie was chewing at her paw tonight and i look down and notice that one of the pads of her paw has something wrong with it. There was brown under neath the toe nail that i thought was just a crumb, then i realized it looked like it had been torn. like the nail was torn from the pad area. called the vet and they said they may have to remove the nail i put neosporin on it tonight, wrapped it up in a bandage and put a boot on it so she can't chew at it. anyone have any nail problems in your experience?? thanks |

| Can you bring Sadie into work with you and have the vet look at it? |

| I have had ours break a nail way down low. They had to cut it off at that point or it could snag and causes lots of pain. They cut it and gave pain meds...a quick yelp and then he was super happy as I think it felt way better even right after. It bleeds a ton though just as an fyi.

| I've had tht happen. Neosporin and wrapping it. It was all better in 3 days. But the tear wasn't that bad. It was bleeding a lot but wasn't hanging off or anything. Just torn from the pad. |

took her in to the vet today with me. it's either split under the skin where Dr. Belew can't see it or it's just tore away from her paw a bit. she's on antibiotics and anti inflam...metacam and clavamox drops. it was swollen and infected but she's fine, Dr. wants to wait and see what happens as it grows out rather than sedate and cut back now she'd rather wait and see if it's actually split and then sedate and cut back if we need to...hope it's just torn from the pad a bit and not at all split thanks for the help. sadie is all pooped out from super daycare today. she met Juris the dobie today | |
