| i'm embarrassed to say... I took my dog to this vet. This is a vet here in San Antonio that has a HUGE facility. I took Ruby here the day after I got here for a check up and let them give her the Lepto shot. I had no idea it was so bad. Ruby ended up dehydrated and had to spend the night in this place. I thank God every day Ruby made it and she is a healthy dog today. If there is anyone in the SA area, please think twice... Here's the link to a story our local new station did... I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey's breeder had it in the contract that I was not to give Joey a Lepto shot. I was much more confident just showing the vet the contract, and saying this is what she demanded, than demanding anything myself. Luckily he didn't believe in the shot either. Also she wrote what type of anethesia should be used during neutering. I wish more breeders would take the time to educate buyers of these things. I'm glad that Ruby recovered, and hope they can do something about the vets office, that's just shameful.

| Lulu's breeder advised against Lepto as well. I had already read about it here, though. But I thought it was great that she went over it for those who aren't fortunate enough to have found YT.

| Bentley's breeder also sent with him...no lepto, no corona, when giving the rabies he is to get a benadryl shot first. Also Isoflurine is the only anesthetic to be given. It is always good to have a breeder that tells you what should be given so there is no guessing. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | The owner's niece is on the website telling everyone who doesn't have a positive comment about the place to "grow up". Sigh. Glad your little one is going to be ok.

| I wish I had known about the lepto shot beforehand. I went in there thinking, "the dr. is right" I have since learned I need to be an advocate for Ruby and that means I need to educate myself beforehand. This vet suggested I do the Corona, but I knew enough to say, No, let's break up the shots." Can you imagine if I had let her get the corona too?? I posted the link because a Yorkie was one of the featured stories, can you imagine the vet telling you, " you dropped your dog off like that" WTH??? I doubt any responsible owner would drop their dog off for a bath with a dislocated hip??? It makes me sick!!! Leslie |
