Senior Yorkie Talker | is this normal? my bella is 11mths and she is in heat she weights 5pds. i took her out for her morning outing and she went straight to my other dog ringo he is a 3yr old akita mind you he weights 150 pds. i have tried to let them get to know each other because in the long run we are all a family but with extreme caution i'm kind of scared ringo might bite her, but so far so good. well today bella went running to him good thing i had her in a leash, and started rubbing all over ringo! ringo started smelling her and wanted to lick her behind. i was really surprised that she was not scared of him like she usually is. it was the complete opposite she was the aggresor.now of course i would never let ringo get to close to her for obvious reasons ,but why the agressive behavior? now every time i take her outside to tinkle she wants to go straight to him.she litteraly jumps on him with no fear what so ever.has anyone ever had this situation happen to them especially with a bigger dog? i want her near him to get to know him and be use to him,but not for her to act that way. should i wait till her heat is over?

YES! YES! YES! Please keep her away from him until she is out of heat. Keep her far away from all males! It only takes a few seconds for an accident to happen.
