| How many times a day? How often do you all walk your babies? What time of day? I work alot and feel really bad about not walking Roxie as much as I should, I am just wondering if you guys that do work, walk them before work or after work or both? Thanks for any advice. |

| Levi goes out pretty frequently because he sits by the back door and looks at me. I take him out when he wakes me up (usually between 7 and 8), and then right before I leave for work at 9. I can usually come home on my lunch break (1-2) and he goes out again then. And then I take him out at 5 when I get home, around 8pm, and then right before bed around 11. So...that is usually around six times, which might be overkill, but he LOVES to be outside. The fewest times I'd take him out would be 4: when he wakes up, when I get home from work, evening around 8pm, and before bed. They aren't always extended walks, sometimes I will take him out just to relieve himself and then we go right back him. But he loves to run and play, so he's never ready to go back inside.

| I forgot to say: he's not pad trained, he goes outside only, so it's pretty much necessary that I take him out very frequently. If your baby is pad trained, one longish walk per day is probably good - unless your pup is like mine and demands to go outside!

| I don't get Harley out every day, but there are several reasons. -I work, and am pretty depressed in my job so when I get home I crash (but that's a crappy excuse) -there is a huge amount of construction going on in and around my building, and sometimes it's just not safe for him to travel through that. -My building has a lot of dogs, and I've noticed a lot of urine in the elevators, so I try not to take Harley in them alot (21st floor, so we need to use them to go down) -I'm in Canada, weather sucks here A LOT. so turrential rain or snow prevent me from going when that happens. -We also usually go for 3-4 hour outtings when we do go out. or go to Bark N Fitz where he gets to play with one of the employee's dogs. Instead we play really hard with him multiple times a day inside. My sweetie goes home at lunch to play with him, he plays this game where he runs around the apartment like a lunatic squeaking and screaming, and Harley chases him barking and twirling. I play heavy games of fetch and games of tag. Once we move at the end of the month I'll be taking obedience training, and walking him out more, I'll be away from construction and will have a safe back yard. Then we'll be walking at least once a day (weather permit)

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | I only take Poppy out once a day at the moment because she is only 11 weeks old and that is after work. Once shes a bit older I will start taking her before and after work.

| Jackson goes outside to potty, so I'll take him out in the backyard on leash multiple times a day when I'm home. I live on 3 acres, not in a neighborhood with sidewalks, so I have to drive 2 minutes up the road to a nice neighborhood to actually 'walk' him. He gets one walk per day and it's between 30 minutes-45 minutes. He badly needs that walk every day, or by 5pm, he starts to really annoy me, LOL. The only reason we don't walk is if it's nasty hot outside and usually those days we go over to my dads house with his inground pool, where he gets a ton of swimming, plus running with the other dogs. Also winter time is alot harder when it's freezing and dark by 5-6pm so we try to get to the dog park a lot more, indoor fetch games, trick training, etc. This dog always needs his mind occupied.

| Maxine goes out when Carlo goes out. Now, he is going out every 1-2 hours due to the Prednisone. He lets us know by hitting his paw on the glass door. Now Maxine the Yorkie does not care if she is inside or outside....when she has to go, she goes. She is usually great and holds it all night, but she is an early riser and starts running in place at 0630 to let you know she has to go. My Job is to wake up Marge so she can go downstairs and let them out, and I can get another hour of quality sleep. When they were younger, they could hold it most of the day, or in carlo's case, all day. |

| Three or more times a day. We both telework a few times a week, so that makes things easier. On the days when we're both in the office, they get a long walk in the morning, a shorter one in the evening (maybe about 15-20 minutes), and another before bedtime. It's been really hot here in DC this summer, so sometimes we do a short walk after work and a longer one when the sun goes down. We're lucky to live in a really walkable area with lots of green space, which the doggies love! They both really enjoy being outside. Especially now that squirrelly season has begun!

| Thanks everyone for all suggestions and to let me know how your schedules work. I stay out in the boonies on about 40 acres, although my backyard is fenced in. Roxie gets to go out several times a day for potty breaks, but I was just worried that she isnt getting enough LONG walks. I need to get my lazy butt outta the bed in the mornings and take her for a walk, but its all I can do to get myself up and ready..lol..I know not a good excuse, but it is the truth. I do walk her in the evenings though, but here in NC it has been so STINKING hot.... |

YT Addict | I walk them after work. I am a teacher so during the school year we go shortly after I get off of work, but with the weather being so severally hot here recently we often go before dusk when it is a bit cooler out.

| I lucked out - my husband takes mine out for a walk at 5:30 AM every day. I read that taking your dog for a walk is one of the best things you can do so we make a point of taking her daily. But, I have play time with her in the AM before I go to work, my husband comes home at lunch and plays with her, then we both play with her off and on in the evenings. Her favorite time to play is when both of us are wiped out and ready to sleep. She drags puts several toys on our bed and then kicks her feet and acts crazy until we stop ignoring her. |

| I'm not sure if you mean for exercise or pottying, but Roxie goes outside at least 4-5 times a day. When I am working during the school year, I take her out to pee before I leave for work at 6:45. She goes out for a long walk when I get home from work around 3. She then goes out again after her dinner and before bed (and sometimes in between). Right now I am on summer break, so the schedule has relaxed a bit.
