So I went with my friend to take her lil pup to the vet praying nothing was wrong and she is a healthy puppy however, my friend left the lady a voicemail saying she would love to see the mom and dad if possible and stop by the house for an idea of what her pup is going to turn out like..and no answer yet..she already thinks she is being avoided.. NOT good =/ We are both happy the puppy is ok though and is doing good..thought I would share..

Do you have the breeder's name? You may be able to find information, perhaps even pictures on the internet. Some kennels even have video footage.

If you want to post the name, we might be able to help you get more information. We might even have members who are familiar with the breeder.

sad part is lp, leg perthes or ct wont show up til later, and will be costly to fix,, my guy had all 3 plus other ailments,, his 1st vet ck was also fine. I bought him from a broker i thought was breeder she lied,, i paid 4200.00 for him, so price isnt always the only factor,, like i said my fife had g4 lp, had both his knees done ,,,legg perthes,, needed total hip replacement at 9 months old and his trachea problems started when he was 4,,i spent thousands and thousands trying to fix him, In my opin these horrible breeders NEED TO STOP, and be put out of business, and people need to be educated,, i wish i knew then what i know now.

I hope the puppy is ok and not from a mill but I do have a bad feeling.

I have a dog I am sure came from a mill, she was sold to me from a puppy store who said she knew all the parents of the dogs and they were all local but the problems have been extensive.

I bought my yorkie

through a breeder who breeds for show and dogs that are not confirmation quality are sold. She was born with only one eye but otherwise healthy, I paid $500 for her. Her brothers sold for a lot more and are just as healthy. I had to still go through the application, supply references, vet's name and number, sign a contract to look after her (spay, send pictures every 6 months until she is 2 years old etc) in turn she gave me a full health guarantee and provided me with the Rosie's line and her registration papers when I have her spayed. If Rosie needs a new home I have to go back to my breeder so she can re-home her.

Im glad the pup is okay but its worrying that the breeder hasnt returned her call.
Hopefully she was just very busy and will be in touch soon.
If the breeder refuses the home visit will your friend still take the pup?

I am worried too..I knew something felt wrong...about it and after my friend got the puppy she said she had trouble sleeping at night knowing that she did not see the living conditions ...sad people think they can trust eachother and you just can't anymore people will do anything to make money..

As for keeping the puppy she is in love with it soo much I am sure she will..I just hope no problems arise in the future with the pup

Wow I am soo sorry to hear that

Vet bills can be costly as we just had to give our other dog sugery for the second time on his other leg ..he has MCL I believe its called..the surgery was 2 thousand plus dollars per each leg..

He is a pitbull Mastiff Mix..and loves our Lucy too death...they play soo good together its too cute..but I think all the playing made his other leg go out too..as he never really played much before the puppy...

I understand, that is the hardest thing in these situations.
I dont think I would be able to give a pup back when I have concerns about where they would be going back to either.

So sorry for you. It happened to me before ... i bought this show line little "stud " prospect and the breeder was such a friend until LP showed up when he turned 10 months old. She wanted to give me another one and take him back, but the way our conversation went i was sure in my heart she was just going to put him to sleep and never care for it, i tried to get a partial refund, she denied it . My husband and i decided to just "swallow" our losses and fix the little guy , he was re-homed after surgery and is a happy 7 years old now. Thankfully no other issues so far, but between his adoption, vet care and all we had about 6000.00 dollars invested in him, because we never considered we lost it. I get a Christmas card yearly

The breeder i got him from champions one puppy from most of her litters. I guess that was a life lesson for me, well learned too. I came to find out through a fellow club member of hers that she is well aware of the LP in her lines, but looks comes first for her. He will not compromise her fame and if she removes the LP lines she will be killing her "show lines" . So sad
