Yorkie Yakker | In walked Seth Life has been real quiet since Kia left us some weeks back. I got a call today from our groomer, I didn't want to answer the phone as I had been looking through our pictures of Kia and feeling bad....dang, the groomer called twice! I figured I better answer, maybe it was about our upcoming appointment and I didn't want to loose our slot. My groomer gets me on the phone and tells me he had just finished grooming a yorkie puppy and the parents didn't want him anymore, did I have room? great. Well, Seth is here, (we renamed him already), and we are having issues! Help! Only one of our dogs likes him. Our two yorkies just want to pick fights with him, is this normal? He is ALOT bigger than our two yorkies also, my baby is only 4lbs and Sebastian is 8lbs. Seth is as big as a COCKER PUPPY!! What do you suggest we do to help Seth fit in? Thanks!! |

| How old is Seth? Generally, I like to let dogs work things out on their own, and allow some snapping, growling and other communication, but I am careful not allow an all out escalation of aggression. I have an eight month old IG puppy right now and she is considerably bigger than Lizzy, but Lizzy gives way, way better than she gets. However, I also have a very small IG, eight pounds that the puppy overwhelms, and I pretty much protect her from the puppy. I also never leave the puppy unsupervised. If I can't watch her, she goes in the crate.

| Darn it, I meant to add my congratulations on your new puppy. Kia's story broke my heart, but I'm happy for Seth that you were able to open your heart and home to him. I really hope things work out, but it may take a little time for everyone to adjust. I really like the name Seth, too.

| Congrats on the new puppy. I agree as long as it doesn't get out of hand I would let them work it out. They just need to get the peeking order set up. Give them some time. |

| It may take some time but they will all get along eventually.

Yorkie Yakker | Seth Thank you so much for your info! Seth is 8 months old. I really don't think he is all Yorkie, he's about 14lbs and he's HUGE!! His ears are not set on his head at the same angle as my other two yorkies, they also fall down and are quite long (big). His coloring is yorkie, the hair type is sort of yorkie, he almost looks like an old english sheep dog except his coloring is yorkie like I said. He's doing better today, he loves to play but he is sooo BIG that my two little yorkies are scared of him, the other guys are also alot smaller also....... |

Yorkie Yakker | Seth Hi Bo, It's good to talk to you, and everyone on here. How long does it take for the pain to lessen when you have to say goodbye to one so small? Ya know, this Seth guy is NOT a yorkie, I'm getting so tired of people abusing dogs. This poor guy has spent the last few months living in a crate. In fact, the same crate that he was flown here in from Kansas. I think he is a cross between a yorkie and a llasa. He does not know how to act like a dog. He's just a mess. I'm so tired, we spent the night on the floor again trying to get Seth to settle in and sleep. He finally went to sleep around 2am. He's been neutered, all his shots are up to date and he's been micro-chipped. The papers for the micro-chip have not been sent in yet with anyones address yet. Does anyone out there want a really cute 8 month old puppy? He's adorable! I don't think he is a fit here. Or maybe it's me, god, I hope its not me, but the rest of my little guys are just a mess, they are afraid of him yet try to bite him and then run. We aren't having fun here yet. My little kids loved Kia so much right off the bat, what are we doing wrong? Why won't they accept Seth? |
