| New puppy I recently became a first time puppy mom of a toy yorkie. She is 13 weeks and 2.3 lbs. She is a riot to be around, so cute and a great addition to our little family. But.... she has started nibbling and biting. Everyone is telling me that its because she is teething and it will stop once she looses her baby teeth, but I am nervous that this is going to continue. I really don't want her to think this is OK behavior and to continue biting. Any suggestions????? |

| When she bites or nips tell her no and give her something safe to chew on, bully sticks work great for this. If she is chewing wood you can try some bitter apple spray. |

| My yorkie is 5 months and did the exact same thing, I have children and other dogs so I was really worried, but we just told her no and made an ouch sound every time, I also ( I know some of you don't agree) when she got into her mad bitting fits when she would go from one to another just bitting squirted her with a little water on her back just somewhere to get her attention. That really helped, now all she has to do is see the bottle and she settles. I think they are also learning to play and the teeth seem like a great tool. Good luck |

| Make sure that you have bone and teething toys for her to chew on and when mine nipped as a puppy we used a spray bottle and would say no and squirt her.

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | My pup is the same and I am slightly worried she will become a 'biter' when she's older too, but at the moment all you can do is tell her "no!" when she does bite then give her something to chew on. I got Poppy a soft chew toy which you wet then put in the freezer so when it comes out its hard and cold, this helps to sooth her gums while shes teething x
