Well its going in that general direction;
I have 3 dogs and they are all pee pee pad trained; the thing is, pee pee pads are getting expensive! They are going thru them like TOILET PAPER!

buying a case of 600 (medical supply companies are awesome!) every 4 months is not cutting it anymore! its a pretty huge chunk of change!

does anyone know of an alternative to pee pee pads? and will it be easy for them to switch to another method?

im not interested in taking them outside, so bell training is not going to work for us.

Have you tried washable pee pads? A couple of the members here sell them.

Another alternative is to purchase the washable bed pads available from a medical supply company.

The initial cost is expensive, but in the long run it saves. I still have several that I ordered over 7 years ago.

Honestly, the only thing I can think of that won't get expensive is taking them outside.

Cody is trained to go outside but is also pee pad trained for rainy days and bad weather.

Does anyone know the cost of Adult Diapers, the generic brand? Might be cheaper and the look the same.

I get the generic at Wall Mart, which I use for lining the bottom of crates. The large package is I think $11.00. That's for the x-large, extra thick.

Washable pads are a great alternative. I sell them on my site...

taking them outside is the cheapest method there is. grass is free.

but if your so against them going outside then washable ones would be cheaper. however some dogs just won't use them.

I used disposable pee pads for the first 6 months but then the babies started shredding them so I started using washable. This is the best thing I ever did. They had no problems learning to use them. I kept them in the same location. I also take them outside. The pads are for when it is terrible weather or I am not at home.

I have 3 dogs also and I use newspaper. I have to change it a couple of times a day but it's a lot cheaper.

Yes, this is what we use - we get them at Sams Club.

You might consider one of those indoor potty patches. Looks like grass. There's several on the market and I know a few ladies who have had success with them.

That's a great price I buy case of 100 for $30. I'm going today I'm almost out. I have 4 babies and we go through alot.
They do go outside when I am out in the backyard but they use them mostly at night time.

I love the washable pee pads. The puppies can't chew them up like disposable and they last forever. I bought ten of the large size, which wasn't totally inexpensive but in the long run well worth it. I only do one load of pee pad laundry per week. My dogs also go outside.

You could also check with a hospital laundry and ask what they do with the soaker bed pads when they are getting a little frayed and won't be used in the hospital any more. I managed to get 50 of them from our hospital laundry, they are not stained just a little frayed around the edges and I paid the grand total of 50 cents each for them. I will get many more years out of them yet.
