| Emily -Rose and Phoebe-Leigh Hi my name is Laura. I have two yorkies. Emily-Rose 2yrs and Phoebe-leigh 1yr old. Emily is black and tan and a very spoilt little girl. Phoebe is a very calm little girl and her colouring is grey and sort of tan. She keeps changing colour. Is this right? Emily spins and jumps up and down when asking for something and yapsa lot. Where Phoebe just looks and waits until we give her whatever Emily is getting. Phoebe takes so nicely where Emily grabs. My concern right this moment is that Phoebe is losing her hair, as it changes colour. Her hair on her head was quiet long when it was the blonde colour and now has changed to a sort of tan. Under the grey silver on her body she is a sort of tan colour again. Should I have her hair cut, but not now as it is +- 10degrees here as it is our winter months now. She does rub her nose on the carpet and scrathes at lot. I have tried all kinds of shampoo and nothing stops the scratching. On her tummy she gets red welts and am I to worry about it. They both eat dry food during the day but Daddy feeds them wet food for breakfast, +- a heaped table spoon. |

It sounds to me like Phoebe-Leigh has allergies. Hopefully, it's a food allergy and not environmental. You said you feed dry food (but hubby sneaks in wet food ) ... please look at the ingredients on the dry food and give us the first 5 or so ingredients. That will tell us what the major ingredients are, and if any of them could be the source of her allergy. As far as Emily-Rose is concerned, she sounds like a normal Yorkie to me! You may be able to teach her some "manners" by making her sit/stay before you give her a treat ... By the way, I love their names: very old-school and romantic! | |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | It sounds as if Phoebe could possibly have an allergy that is causing her to loose her hair and rub so much. Before shaving her, I would definitely pay a visit to the vets and see if an elimination diet is in order. Love the names, too. So girly! |

| Thank you to the International Yorkie community for welcoming me and my girls. Thanks to all for you for the comments on their names. We loved Emily-Rose so much that we did not want to leave her at home if we had to go out. She always went everywhere with us and if she was not allowed to go into any shop I would sit with her in our car. We prayed about getting her a friend to be with her when we were not able to take her with. SO along came the little Phoebe-Leigh. She is such a loving little girl and a very obedient dog. (If we can call her a dog) I am worried about "P" losing her hair. Lee B asked me to give her the first five ingredients and still waiting on her reply. Thanks for the chat lauraj |
