| what length of puppy cut so i made a appointment for Gatsby to have his summer cut and i know i want him short but i do not want him bald he is about 6 pounds but seems smaller i figured an inch would be good but the groomer said that might be too long i should go with a half inch or a 1/4 inch to make sure he is not to hot he is still black everywhere but his neck so im really worried about him over heating any suggestions would be very welcome thanks

| I'm not very good at guessing length, but I use a short 8 on my boys...I don't think it's too short, but it's short enough that they don't get matted or anything. If I were to guess, I would say their hair is maybe an inch long...

| In truth, I have not cut my puppy's coat yet, but 1/4 inch seems like it would be practically like shaving the dog. It would be short!
