| How heavy are your Yorkies When I was out yesterday I took my Yorkie into the pet shop to have him weighed, as I have a front pack and carry him every where when I am in the shopping centres, I have been doing this since he was 2 months of age, he is now 8 months. He is 4.1kg is that the correct weight for a yorkie? as I am getting on in age myself he seems quite heavy, but we love to take him with us, and he loves to come. He knows when we are getting ready to go out, and when I go and put his lead and harness, plus his coat on he thinks that is just wonderful, he carries his lead in his mouth until we pick him up and harness him into the car. | Yorkies come in all shapes and sizes. The standard is not to exceed 7lbs but we know that's not always the case. Jackson is a sturdy 12lbs (although, his last vet visit, they said he was 16lbs? but it still just doesn't seem right to me- he hasn't outgrown anything, etc!) Anyways.... 4.1kg is about 9lbs I believe? Sounds you've got yourself a "teapot!" Jackson was already 5lbs when I got him at 9 weeks old.

Armani is a solid 6 pounds... once I took him in and the tech said he was 4 pounds... I made them use a different scale, I knew he would look like he was dying if he was really 4 pounds Sometimes the scales just arent calibrated right, you would notice 4 pounds on a small dog.

| Yorkies come in all shapes and sizes. (Is he about 8-10 pounds? I'm not good at kgs!) There are carriers that could help spread out the weight if that's an issue and you take him everywhere with you. It's so cool that he carries his leash in his mouth to your car! Smart pup |

| My yorkie is not full grown... but will be 6 months old very soon. She weighed 2lbs, 13 oz after eating her meal at her last weigh in! I use a very sensitive digital scale that is very accurate... in fact, it is too acurate for my liking. I get on and weigh myself and then add Chloe. I used to say it lied by saying I was 10lbs over... but DH caught on and said if this was the case Chloes weight would be in the negatives, lol! |

| Migna is so tiny, When Sugar was 8 months old, weights only 1.8lbs. I think it's not healthy (the vet told me she's healthy anyway) but decided to do anything to fatten her up. I started to feed her 4 times a day, and some boiled chicken. A month later we went to see vet, she's already 2.2lbs! She's now 13 months old, and still growing...I think she's 2.6lbs now
