Greetings From Arkansas and a Question! Hello folks. I am a new Yorkie owner and will surely have many questions. I have had an obsession with owning one every since I became the mom to a half Yorkie half Poodle. Yorkiepoos I guess they call them. I wasn't out to buy one of these "designer dogs" but by happenstance came across this litter and I fell in love with one in particular. This has now forced me to become somewhat familiar with the world of hybrids. I'm sure there are many mixed opinions out there on this, but I'm not here to discuss that. I'm not necessarily an opponent or proponent. Nevertheless, I absolutely love him (Bear) to death, but I couldn't get it out of my mind that I now needed a full blooded Yorkie as well. So, here I am today owning one as of three days ago, a nine week old male whom I've named Murphy. And oh my gosh, I am obsessed. So much to learn about this breed as I've never owned a "high maintenance" dog before. Big dogs mainly. I actually worked for a greyhound adoption group for many years, and still have and love one today. Ok. What I'd like, if someone wouldn't mind taking the time, is to post pictures of the stages of coat transition from puppyhood though adulthood. While I realize this will vary from Yorkie to Yorkie, I imagine there is a general rule of thumb? I would greatly appreciate it someone wouldn't mind doing this for me, or maybe there is a site out there showing this? BTW, Murphy should be a blue/golden. Thanks again and I look forward to learning here!

I bet there are a lot of threads out there for you to search. They gradually change colors from black to golden, etc. Think it took ours about a year, but it was a long time ago, and I am n=old and forgetful now! You may get jumped on for having a 9 week old Yorkie, so stand by for some flaj, but best of luck and have a great weekend,

Hello and Welcome to YT! I can't help you on the coat stages, because Twinkie is my first yorkie and she is 8 months old. There are many long timers that might be able to help though. Good luck with your new furbaby!
