| first trip to groomer Mia is 4 months old and went today to the groomer for the first time. I spoke with the groomer prior to leaving and she asked me if I wanted her cut like a Yorkie and do I plan on leaving her long or short, I said I would keep her long (she isn't long yet) and to cut her like a Yorkie. This is how she came out. I don't think this is correct. I just took Mia for a walk and we met another Yorkie who was 10 months old and the mother couldn't believe that Mia was a Yorkie. Will it grow back and is this indeed correct? |

| The pic in your avatar? I looked at your albums -- looked like a Yorkie to me! I prefer the 'puppy cut' or shorter look on a Yorkie and many keep their pets cut like that.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | She looks yorkie to me too. As you see more yorkie pics here, make some copies of pics to take to your groomer so she knows what you want. Be very explicit about what you want cut & not cut. Change groomers if she doesn't give you what you want. You are going to run into all kinds of people who think they know what a yorkie is supposed to look like. Very few really know what they are talking about, but won't hesitate to tell you that you are wrong. Brush it off & move on. You will see here on yt that yorkies can all look very different from each other, but they are yorkies. People all look different & so do yorkies. Bet very few people (if any) you run into are certified yorkie judeges. ; ) Enjoy your little one!
