| Maybe fostering sick baby Hi guys. The rescue I volunteer with (usually doing homevisits) called me. There was a bust in Glouster County (NJ) and there is a 6 week old Yorkie pup with possible Hydrocephelos. If no one takes the pup they will put it down. Our rescue does not have the funds to take in a sick pup, but one of the woman there know I'm a sucker for Yorkies. I agreed to take the pup and bring him to my private vet at the least for an evaluation. My thoughts are that this pup may be much younger then 6 weeks old, hence why it's wobbly when walking. Also, hyperglycemia in which case I've already suggested they try to give the pup some nutrical. I feel like I'm on pins and needles waiting for a call to know what's going on. it's about an hour drive from me but I've agreed if need be that I'd pick the pup up tonight, just to get him or her in a safe environment. I don't know if it's a male or female. I only know that they say it's six weeks old, and may have hydrocephelos. I just could not see not at the least giving this pup a chance. I can only be a temporary safe house for this pup and may at some point need some help from one of our reputable Yorkie Rescues. I think the pup deserves to at least have a warm, clean house with love and a chance to survice. I cannot understand how anyone would just put the pup down without even giving him or her a chance or without knowing if there is anything even wrong with it. Elaine |

| Hi Jody. I'm still waiting. The woman that asked me is furious, because the group that asked her, still has not gotten back to her about picking the pup up. As of right now, all I know is he's at an animal hospital and if no one take him they will put the pup down. Have no idea if it's a male or female. I waited up late last night, to see if they wanted me to pick the pup up right then and there but were unable to get info. I'm hoping today. My friend from the rescue I work with, is going to be in that area and if she can she will pick the pup up and drop the pup off to me tonight. I was upset all night to think that this little one may have been all alone in a cage. I hope one of the vet techs may have at least taken the pup home with them last night. I'll keep everyone posted as soon as I hear. Elaine |
