| Is it bad to let your yorkie sleep with you? I have tried to get him to sleep in his bed but he would not |

| Cooper loved sleeping in his puppy pen but it was me that took him away from that. I was worried about him after his knee surgery and wanted to make sure he didn't mess with the staples so I brought him in bed with me and I don't regret it at all. All of our dogs have always slept with us anyway. I don't feel there's any harm in it at all!

| Actually, one of my Yorkie information books says that Yorkies are one breed that nearly always insists on sleeping with their human. I know it is a concern when they are tiny, but it seemed that I automatically knew they were beside me......just like if it was one of my children. One of mine is 3 lbs. and snuggles every night. When mine were young and I knew they couldn't hold their pee for very long, I set a very loud timer beside the bed to get up and take my baby out. The general rule is: hold their pee for 1 hour for every month they are old. Might seem daunting but it passes very quickly.

| Mine do not sleep with us , but thats just personal preference. One of the main reasons is I am scared that Chloe will fall out of our very high bed onto the wood floor. I sleep better knowing she is safe in her bed But I don't think it's a bad thing to sleep with them if you want to

| Personally, I don't see a thing wrong with it...mine have always slept with me and we've never had any dominance issues, no bedwetting and no one has ever been hurt and I've always had tiny Yorkies until I got my Biewers. Peanut is too small to jump on and off of the bed so I turn my office chair so it's wedged between the bedframe and my desk...then I put a blanket on the floor so he can land on something soft. He knows I do this for him and now he waits for me to get it all set up. |

| I would, totally, like Apple & Buzz to sleep w/me, especially, since I sleep alone, but, like Chloe's mom, I'm afraid they would jump off the bed and hurt themselves...I've even gotten steps and tried to teach Apple how to do them, but she wasn't interested in that...Soooooooo, I guess Apple will sleep on the living room couch, and Buzz will sleep in his little kennel (w/the door open)....Sighhhhh....what a shame, but it's best for the babies.... |

| Jackson has slept in my bed since he was around 14/15 weeks old. It's worked out wonderful for us and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Senior Yorkie Talker | ZZ has always wanted to be right up under me, I have a Yorkie book too! I think they are just naturally inclined to want to be anywhere you are! However, if you want him to sleep with you and he won't try giving him treats when he's in the bed, maybe he'll begin to like it then! If you feel it is unsafe, for whatever reason, rolling on him, knocking him out the bed. Most of the time, they all move! =) Best of luck!

| Lexie will be 1 year old on Thursday and she has been sleeping with us for about 2 weeks. She is a big Yorkie (11 lbs) so I don't worry much about her getting hurt. We would put her in the bed with us and about midnight when I actually go to sleep I would crate her. One night I was exhausted and fell asleep. I woke up at 7 AM with her licking my face to go outside. She has been in our bed since and LOVES it. |

| Max sleeps with me unless its one of the nights where my daughter insists on sleeping with me too. Then Max just gives up his spot and sleeps in his doggie bed or on the couch in the loft just outside my bedroom. I have a king sized bed..we could all 3 fit but I guess he likes his space..

| My dh was always upset that our last yorkie would never sleep with him so when we got our puppy we had to put him in bed with him right away so that he would get used to it. My little maltesse who is 10 yrs old sleeps with me so everyone here is happy. Gotta love it. |

| To eachs own....we all like different things in life...this is one of them....3 of mine sleep with us every night the other two little ones get to on occassion. I am scared they fall or jump out of my high bed. They always fall asleep with us then I put them in their kennel area.

| IMO it is whatever you prefer. I see nothing wrong with sharing your bed with them. Just don't expect them to move over when you need a little more room. |
