YT 2000 Club Member | Had a Scare Around 6pm tonight while talking to DH on the phone, Jasmine was sitting on my lap, all of a sudden I knew something was wrong with Jasmine. I immediately told DH I had to get off the phone that something was wrong with her. Jasmine is always a loving little girl, always giving kisses. She had gone limp except she was tremulous and jerky. I did a quick exam of her and noticed her once little tummy was distended and tight. She was looking at me but rather with a dazed expression. I put her down and her gait was very unsteady with only the few steps she would take. DH was just a few miles from home. We called the ER vet and told them we were on our way. She started panting very heavily. We live about 35 miles from the ER vet. When we got there her respirations were 170! However her O2 saturation was 99 percent. Thank the Lord. We had all prayed over her before we left for the ER vet, I forgot to mention that. Her blood pressure was fine, but her pulse was very high. She did not have a temp. The vet was very worried about her resp and pulse being so high and her unsteady gait, the tremors, and the dazed look. We asked what they thought was wrong with her, they thought she might have gotten into something but we don't have any idea what it could have been. I asked them to check her vital signs one more time.............they did. Her vital signs were all fine. She was no longer jerking. So, we brought her back home. By the time we got home, Jasmine was fine. She is up walking, no tremors, no jerky, resps fine, went to the bathroom with no problems. She knows everyone, giving kisses. We still don't know what she might have gotten into, but we just thank our Lord that she is alright. We don't ever want to go through an evening like this one again!

| WOW that sounds very scary. Almost sounds like an epileptic (SP?) type thing - but I have NO experience AT ALL - just a feeling is all. I just wanted to tell you that I am so happy she is better and at home with all of you ... the grace of God. Huggs

YT 2000 Club Member | She is one year old. We thought low blood sugar at first also. We didn't have any nutri cal, so I gave her some karo and it did seem to help a little at first but then she just went back the same so we went on to ER. We also thought she might have gotten into some chocolate due to her symptoms, but we didn't have any around. My DH and I are both one medications so we might have inadvertantly drop a pill and she might have gotten one. We just don't know and prob. never will know what happened.

YT 2000 Club Member | Jasmine slept well through the night. No further problems. She is her usual self this morning. Boy, what a scare last night! Pray we never have to relive that one over again. We have never had to take either one of our babies to ER before. We don't have pet insurance, needless to say we will be getting it now, any suggestions?

| Wow, I am so glad she is fine, it is awful to go through that. We use to always go through emergency drives to the hospital when our Daisy was small. It makes your heart skip a beat!! I am so glad that she is ok!! Big hugs to you both.

YT 2000 Club Member | Thank you all for your wonderful support. You know the very first thing I wanted to do after we got home last night and made sure Jasmine was alright, was to get on here and talk to everyone on YT. It is so great that we have some where to go that understands how much our little ones mean to us. You know when this happened I started thinking, chocolate, hypoglycemia.......symptoms that I had been taught here on YT. If I hadn't been here on YT every since we brought Jasmine home I might not had been able to have kept a level head and just freaked. But, since I had been on here for awhile and read what so many of you had been through and others had taught I was able to react differently, calmly and it helped her I think. Thank you all for all the advice through this past year! God bless you all.

YT 2000 Club Member | Just said it was tight and distended. It isn't now. But, when we came home she had several BM's which were loose, now it is back to normal.
