| Question: walk in rain It is raining in Boston.... I have to go to walk with Guinness, my friend's yorkie whom I am watching this weekend. I just want to ask everyone what you do in rainy day. Do you walk the dog with umbrella and try to have your dog under the umbrella.. ? How do you guys walk your dog in rainy days? |

| I just run 'em out. They have to go, so they will do their business quick and you will be back in before you know it. |

| doggy umberella is something i thought about buying. not sure if they really would keep them dry. i think mine get wet from the feet up. I usually don't do the long walk thing on rainy days. I have stood out side the door holding an umbrella over Buckeye and Ahia (one at a time of course) while they potty and me being the one getting all wet.

| No, actually, Muffin tended to have tonsillitis too easily and I would avoid the rain. I would generally wait until the rain ended. On those days when rain is endless, I understand it can be a problem. Muffin used pads in the garage on rainy days. But I just wouldn't risk her being sick. If we went out when just the grass was wet, she ended up with her legs and tummy completely soaked! If you have a healthy yorkie that doesn't tend to get tonsillitis or get sick easily, I'd say go for it. Just use an umbrella. Hopefully you have a little raincoat for the little one or at least a sweater or something like that.

| I just ran ran ran... I didn't bring umbrella because I knew he would get wet anyway plus it wasn't raining as much as I thought it was.. but if it rains more tomorrow, I will definitely bring it. He got wet, and his feet got dirty.. so I washed him a bit. Now he is under the down comforter.. By the way how often do you guys give your yorkie bath? |

Maggie loves the rain, sprinkler, pond or anywhere there is a place to get wet.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Eddie's got a raincoat that works pretty well. His face and belly get a little wet, but that's about it. Of course, i don't take him out when it's pouring.

| But when you are living in a apartment or traveling, for example, unless the dog is pad trained, you just about have to take them out for a walk in the rain. For us, it's always a short walk, just long enough to do his business. I use an umbrella but Rowdy gets wet. I always try to wait till the rain lets up as much as possible, but that's just the way it is, you both will get a bit wet, when it rains. At home, in our backyard, Rowdy will run out and go real quick and then run back in.

| Bender really dislikes the rain. He loves baths, hates the rain. I think it's because where he grew up it was very cold and windy on most rainy days. Bender just sits at the door and looks at you like 'yeah, you go out in it.' So we don't make him go out when it rains. He potties right in front of the toilet on those endless rainy days. We thought about puppy pads, but figured why bother...he's trying to go where we go, and it's easy to spot and clean up, so no harm no foul in our opinion. I might try getting him a rain coat though. It sounds like a nifty idea, although I think he'd need rain boots too, he hates getting his feet mucky. |

| Yoda does not like the rain at all, but loves his baths. He has a rain coat and boots for when we *have* to go out on rainy days
