| Sleepless in Florida... Our little guy joined our family just yesterday and already I'm hooked. Well, to be honest, I'm also sleep deprived. This darling little 2.5 lb, 9 week boy cried all night. Is this normal? It's almost as if he doesn't know what the problem is. He finally went to sleep last night around 11:30 pm all snug in his little kennel. My husband grinned at me saying "That wasn't so bad - let's get some sleep." Ha! It turns out that "some" sleep equals 3 hours to my little Gizmo. Am I doing something wrong you think? He ate. He drank water. He did his business on my floor, then proceeded to drag and play with the training pad. *sighs* I'm assuming this is merely a stage that he will outgrow, but is there anything I can do to make him more comfortable, and for me to get some sleep? Thanks, guys... |

| I believe that is perfectly normal. He's just left his litter mates/mommy and doesn't understand why he's all alone. Give a few more days and it'll get better. Does he have anything he can nuzzle into in his kennel? If not, you may want to get him a blanket or something. I'm sure others will have more info as well. It's been a while since I brought home a little puppy. Jacie was grown and Sophie came home at 16 weeks, and we put her in the bed with us. Good luck with your new baby!!

| Your new baby is going to need some time to adjust to his new surroundings. It took our Rio about a week for her to get comfortable and let her real personality shine through. Also, at 9 weeks he is still quite young and it may take some time for him to sleep through the night. Rio is almost 10 months and still wakes up once in the middle of the night for a potty break - it's rare that she sleeps all the way through til morning. I just figure she's tiny (3 lbs) and has a tiny bladder. Getting a new Yorkie puppy is like having a newborn in the house - lots of sleepless nights but it will get better! Congratulations! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome and congratulations. It is normal in the beginning. What i have found works for me is having their crate by my bed so they know I am right there. Good luck it doesn't last forever.

| My 13 week old puppy still wakes up 2 times a night to go to the bathroom. I tried the crate, but she cried and I am a softy. She sleeps in the bed with me. |

| Hes very young and everythings new to him so its going to take awhile plus they have such tiny bladders when young and need to go potty more often. Your probably not going to get a lot of sleep for a couple months at least thats how it was with Callie.

| Yep! Don't worry - it doesn't last forever. Jackson was 9 weeks old as well when I brought him home. I had to literally put the crate on my bed for the first few nights, and then I put it on my nightstand. About a month later, he began sleeping in my bed.

| *grins* I actually thought of putting him in the bed with me, but I was afraid I would roll over on him and do him serious harm. |
