My Yorkie is 7 months old and she is almost fully pottied trained. I notice that she still pees in little spots on the carpet, even though she has a potty pad. Any suggestions on how I can stop her from doing that?

Your furbaby always has "accident" at the same spot? I think it's because of the scent, you can try to use detergent to clean the particular spot. Maybe she wouldn't pee on the carpet once the scent gone

you are so lucky that your baby is almost trained. How did you do it? Lucy is 6 months and still completely clueless!

Violet is right, you need to get rid of the scent. That's what is drawing her back. I use Nature's Miracle, but there are lots of stain/odor products out there. Try PetSmart.

this may sound stupid but why not try putting a pee pad in the spot she always goes in?

Don't know if this will help. It works for me. Many yrs. ago I saw this in the paper. Stomp with a towel on the pee, then pour part water and white vinegar, I use the vinegar straight. Stomp again with towel. The paper said there is a oil in the urine and the vinegar will pull it out. There will be no stain and pup won't go back to the spot. Of course the house smells like vinegar but that passes. I have had several dogs and had good luck with this method.
We put a bell hanging from the door knob. It was silent for 2 weeks then all of a sudden she started ringing the bell to go out. I think she put two and two together. She always gets a treat if she potties. One day she held it to long and come running across the living rm, just about skid into the door. Did'nt make it in time. But she tired. Of course she loves the outside so that connection helps.

That is superrrrr cool! I adopted a 8yrs old and she is potty trained, just that she pee'd on the carpet a couple of times and I just tell her no and she looks sad. Do you think this trick would work...I mean, would I be able to instill this training in a dog so old?

What a great idea, hanging a bell on the door, how'd you come up with that one ? What kind of bell do you use and how does your dog ring it ?
