| I did a bad, bad thing... Okay, I need to come clean, for I feel terribly guilty. I purchased my sweet Pippita at a pet store. I know how awful it is, and that it promotes more nefarious breeding, but by the time I got to her, she was 4 months old and reduced from over 2k to 500$. She's absolutely beautiful, smart, well-trained, well-behaved, and potty trained. My vet said she was in perfect health. The thing about her is she's 12.2 lbs and has a 'cotton-coat', which retains her puppy-like coloring (rather than the blue/blonde look). She looks just like a teddy bear, hence the nickname Osita I just feel so-ooo guilty for contributing to puppy mills and I just want my sweet girl's life to be healthy. PS - Please try not to judge me. I understand what I did is reprehensible, but I just couldn't put her back in the crib, where she was all alone. It wasn't till I got home and researched that I discovered I was helping promote the vicious cycle of backyard breeding. Gisela |

| Don't beat yourself up, many people on here have bought from pet stores or directly from puppy mills. Now you know. It sounds like you were very lucky and got a healthy baby. Enjoy her. |

| I would not be too hard on your self. What you did was in no way reprehensible you took this lovely little baby and gave her a wonderful caring and safe home. If it was not you who purchased her then it would have been someone else. No judgment from just lots of love |

| Shame on you. There I said it. Now I can say congrats and I am so happy that she is healthy! How long have you had her for now? One of my close friends just bought a puppy from a pet store this past week. I was really upset because I had "educated" her. Luckily her precious little puppy seems to be doing really well and is a REALLY well-behaved little munchkin! She is luck that you found her! |

| Congratulations on your pet store baby. Don't feel bad or guilty, look at it as if you saved it's life because in reality you did. Now you know so now you won't do it again. I also did the no-no, Buddy is also from a pet store, hence his size, 16lbs. He's also very healthy who could ask for anything more. I wouldn't do it again, now knowing what I do so I avoid any store that sells live animals. It's just too tempting. Good luck, |

| Congratulations......don't be hard on yourself. For the grace of God Go I. Yep! My first 2 yorkies were purchased from not the best circumstances. The first from a BYBer......but, I will say that the breeder set me on a path in the right direction, as she put me in touch with a regional breed club. My 2nd I should have known better. I obtained her from the Flea Market....so, we've all been there done that. Take care of your lil girl. We, that care have a soft heart for every lil pup we see in not so great circumstances.

| Oh hun! Don't make yourself sick over this. It is not your fault. In fact, I call what you did a rescue. You are very fortunate that you got a healthy pet. My darling daughter had to have a pet shop puppy, against my will, and I made her pay for it. That was a year before she left for college, knowing that she was going to leave the dog behind. Moka instantly attached herself to me, and I can tell you her purpose was to make the empty nest more bareable and that she did when my daughter left the home. Moka definitely fills the void. There obviously was a reason you brought this fella home with you and you may not fully understand those reasons for quite some time, but it was meant to be. Congrats on your new guy! |

| Whew... I was afraid I was going to be reamed out. Thank you for your support. Pippi was born 1.Oct.2007, so she just turned 2. Her personality is just fantastic I am in a wheelchair - I fell of my horse a few years back, broke my neck, & damaged my spinal cord. She's my registered service dog, as a companion dog. When I say, 'paws up', she jumps into my lap, and stays there... even out in public. She is totally housetrained, and totally sweet. She sleeps on my feet each night, and I just adore her. She's super-well socialized, as we go to the dog park very often. An all-around perfect girl, I just feel so guilty on her origins. I'm going to try to post some pictures now. Why am I having so many problems posting photos?? Gisela |

| I don't think I would have been able to resist taking her home either. I have a 14 lb Yorkie and I wouldn't want her any other way. I thought she was going to be 7-8 lbs but I love her at 14 lbs. Your new baby sounds a lot like my Daisy, she is a cotton coat and a teddy bear face too. She has floppy ears. I am happy that you saved this baby and that she is healthy. Don't feel bad because I didn't know about back yard breeders when I got my baby either. I can't imagine my life without my babies no matter where they came from. My best wishes for many years of love and fun with your baby and I can't wait to see pictures!

| Maybe this will help you. How To Post Pictures -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posting pictures, while it may look overwhelming, is actually pretty simple. To post pictures in the YorkieTalk Photo Gallery, click on the link below: YorkieTalk.com Photo Gallery - Login - Powered by PhotoPost Click on Browse to choose what pictures from your computer you want to share. There are no filesize limits to posting pictures in the Photo Gallery, so any digital images from your digital camera should work fine automatically. --- For posting pictures on the Forum side of YorkieTalk, please try to post pictures as attachments rather than linking a picture from another site. Long-term, the picture may stop working via linking, whereas if it is saved as an attachment, it will never be lost. There is a maximum filesize of 200KB for JPG/JPEG files, and 150KB for GIF files. Any files bigger than those will be rejected as attachments. Most digital camera files will be bigger than the maximum filesizes. The easiest way to resize your photo would be to use a program that can resize your picture, such as Irfanview (which is free and downloadable at the link below). The maximum filesize is to save some space on the forum servers, as well as help out the dial-up users. By uploading pictures as attachments, dial-up Internet users can opt to view the picture if they would like and not be forced to download huge files within a thread. Download IrfanView The best picture sizes to use for attachments is either 640 by 480 pixels or 800 by 600 pixels if you want a bigger picture. Here is a guide on using IrfanView: Irfanview Tutorial After you have made sure your pictures are under the maximum filesize, you can create a New Thread or Reply to a message and add an attachment to your post. Click on Manage Attachments and click on Choose to find the picture on your computer that you want to upload. Then click Upload to upload the picture, and Close Window after you are finished uploading. Then click on Submit New Thread or Submit Reply as normal. Here is a free image editor, resizer, and optimizer (for PC): PhotoFiltre - Download If you have any questions on picture posting, please reply to the thread at the link below: Picture Posting Help - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community
