| From what I've read, if you go back and forth from taking them outside to "go" and using pee pads, it can confuse the dog. Also that pee pads encourage urinating indoors. I would stick with one as much as possible. The crate should only be big enough for Bella to stand up, turn around and lay back down. If there is too much room, she will pee at one end and lay at the other. Is there a towel or blanket in the crate? Dogs will not soil their sleeping area unless they can no longer hold their urine. At 10 weeks, she should be going out once an hour. If she can't hold it for that long start at every 30 minutes and work your way up. Right now, I would say you should be able to leave her in her crate for up to 2 hours before having to take her out to "go". Take her out, take her outside, give her a potty command that you use EVERY time until she goes, praise her like crazy (maybe treat) and play with her for about 15-30 minutes and then put her back in her crate for 1-2 hours. Repeat. It's hard work at first and very time consuming but it does get better. Good luck! |
