| Update on Lida - The Miracle Pup! Hey all. Wanted to update on Lida Rose. She's doing really well. Her right leg is totally healed, the last scab came off yesterday. Her left is still now healed but the damage was more extensive, one piece of bone has softened and is slowly disappearing and the vet hopes the other piece will do the same. For now, he is letting nature take care of things, he thinks it's best at this point before we put her through anything else, he never wants to put her under again unless it's an emergency, so she'll never be fixed, but that's ok. We put cushions around all over the floor and yesterday she started running from one to the other! So good to see her run some, she's not very good at it but she will be able to do it and that's so important to a puppy! She's back on her regular diet and is starting to seem happy again, I think she suffered some from depression when she wanted to play and couldn't but she's playing now and the other dogs aren't as timid with her (it helps that Granny went out and bought her a whole bunch of new toys, soft ones that won't hurt her boo boos - the other dogs will play with her and her toys, but that's ok, she likes to share!). My husband put things well yesterday - he said that Lida already had her front paws on the Rainbow Bridge but decided she wanted to stay with us, when she came back she had to leave the paws behind but they will be there for her in the afterlife. I thought that was a great way of saying what happened to her. My little baby was literally dying but she didn't finish the job and we have her with us and she's going to be just fine! Now she has a unique walk, her little behind swings from side to side, looks like she's strutting her stuff on a runway when she walks. When we take her out we put on her little booties that Michelle and Sophie sent and most people don't even know she had anything wrong, they think she walks funny because of the booties! Thanks again everyone for your support, concern and prayers. Right now I am so very happy, she is one little trooper and will have a great life in spite of her handicap!

| Oh Windy, I am SOOOOOOOOOO thankful that Lida is doing so well! Your husband saying about leaving her paws on the Rainbow Bridge brought tears to my eyes. It is just so touching. How wonderful that Lida is wanting to play more now and that the others are starting to want to play with her again. If you look "miracle" up in the dictionary, little Lida Roses's picture should be there! You keep up the good work, you are an AWSOME Mommy! |

| I'm so happy to read she's doing better and better as time goes by. That's because she has a reason to get well. She knows she has a mommy and daddy that love her as much as she loves them.

| I am really touched by your Lida and happy she is doing better. Bless her heart and your husband sounds like he is a keeper too. someone metioned to me they had heard my husband talking in baby talk to Ahia and Buckeye. They were in awe over the fact that such a tought talking man could be so soft when it came to animals. lol I like the name Lida. Is that with a long i sound? just curious. My mothers name was Lyda.
