| Better Business Bureau Hello there. Are there any breeders out there that are Better Business Bureau certified? I have a few questions, so I've been told that in order to be certified, one must have a background check and references? I know this breeder that is BBB certified and has semi-a lot of different kind of dogs (mixes), so do you guys this this breeder is legit? Thanks in advance, was just curious. |

| Can you find someone local that doesn't breed that many dogs? I would be careful of someone that has that many different dogs.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I agree with Cindy, the Better Business Bureau doesn't care if she's a reputable breeder. If you have trouble with her, they will put that in their file, and that's about all. I would never recommend a breeder such as this. First of all, the dogs are ACA registered, which is not a reputable registry, so registration means nothing. She breeds mixes, and no reputable breeder does this, the idea behind breeding is to be able to predict with confidence what kind of puppy you will produce, when you mix breeds, you have no idea what you'll get, and the dogs often wind up in shelters. Another thing that shows she's not a good breeder is that you can win a puppy in a contest; no reputable breeder would ever do that. What if the person who wins the contest can't provide a suitable home? Reputable breeders are very careful about puppy placement, and try to only place puppies in homes where people meet certain requirements. Please look elsewhere for a dog. I always recommend people check out how the dogs are being raised in person, buying over the Internet, is no different than buying from a pet store.

| I understand turning to the internet for finding your dog. I used next day pet and found a breeder I really liked. I also looked at over 500 yorkies and talked with about 20 breeders. In the end I have one of the most amazing yorkies ( bias maybe). You need to have a very long list of questions to ask and some include seeing pictures of the puppy with the parents at least the mother. There are a ton of websites to help you find a good breeder. It also didn't hurt that my b.f is stationed in Ok and the dogs came from there. We thought of going to the house and picking them. You also have to have a vet check up before they can ship and I highly recommend getting a vet check up from your trusted vet right when they arrive. Most breeders make you do this. Best of luck on your search! |
