The mesh is attached to 2"x2" corner posts. It is only 2ft high so no gate though my DH asked if I wanted one...said no bother. It is 8ft long and 30" wide so I can reach her without stepping in anyway. It still seems very big for her. The 8ft is almost too long. It is just beside our back door under an awning type roof. I am going to post a pic.

| Wow, very impressive! What a great little area for a potty. It is under the roof, looks like it has plenty of drainage, great job.

Where did you get the mesh/fencing stuff? It looks nice. The only stuff I've seen is cheap looking. Edit -- Nevermind, just went back, you said Home Depot! LOL.

| I'm looking on Home Depot's website. I can't seem to find the black mesh. Maybe they just don't list it on the site? I may have to go by the store and take a peek. I'm determined for something cheap, esp. during these winter months that allows him to just run out and run back in w/o me leashing him up. My dad's house has a huge fenced in yard and it's sooo easy to just let him out and he comes right back in when he's finished his business. I get so lazy when I take visits over there and get spoiled. I bought a retractable tie-out, but it's only 18 feet long and the fact that he is on a "leash" he like won't move on it, lol. I end up having to walk him to potty anyways. He prefers to just lounge in the sun while attached to the tie out.

| thanks for feed back [B]A lot of good suggestions but I do want to spend the money to also make this a play area. I have a swing out there and it would be nice to sit on the swing while Jonah plays. And I want it to be an arrangement where I don't have have to put my coat and shoes on when I am letting him out, though at this point it will take training for him to go out without me. Now, he will stay by the door until I am outside too. We have a business in town called Paw Friendly Landscapes who I am going to work with to see what they can design and hope to post the results for all to see.

| I'm going to do a similar thing like MorkieMomm for an area in my backyard. I'd like to make it bigger tho, so I don't know how much more expensive that will be. I'm thinking 20 feet wide and 15 feet long, make it more of a rectangular shape.

The mesh was in the same section as chain link fencing at our home depot, but I am in Canada so who knows if the store is set up the same. We paid $16.00 for an eighteen ft roll of 24" high. The wood we had from other projects and the most costly thing was the rocks. The amount in the pen came to about $22.00 I think. I always try to figure out the least expensive way to do things. I'm a cheapy . It is really nice to have the roof over top though, the rain has arrive with a vengeance! Good luck with yours and post some pics when you are done.

Do you remember if they had higher than 24"... Jackson could jump that if he really wanted to. I wish I could find it on the website.... hmm. Maybe I'm just dumb, ha!
