When scruffy was young his coat was gold and black. as he got older, his coat changed to more of a silver/grey/(Blue?) and gold color as expected. I noticed recently that now his back is half black half silver? I don't think there is anything wrong.. but it's just strange!
Any ideas why it's like this?

His silver hair does have silver roots, and black hair with black roots. so strange!

Roxy is my first yorkie, so I don't really know why yours is growing in like this. Roxy's is more like Scruffy's back half, but quite uniform. It will be interesting to see how Scruffy ends up. He's a cutie though! Keep us posted.

we will see! he turns two in april so he's about a year and 6 months.

Interesting...Barley's hair has done the same type of thing, but not back to black...just darker. I wondered why, maybe it's just their hormones still changing as they go for teenagers to adults
