| DH tells me I better stop torturing the kids or else... All the kids got baths this weekend. I usually spread it out because it kills my back to wash all 3 on the same day, but DH's son said he'd do Boo which really helped. So he is washing Boo & I washed Gracie Ruth on Sat. Sun morning before church I get the towels, shampoo, conditioner...etc out and started running the water so that it would get warm. Boo and G take one look at what's going on and high tail it to the living room and curl up together, making themselves as tiny as they can in the corner of the couch. They won't even look directly at me when I walk in to see what they are up to. They just cut there eyes quickly in my direction to see who's going to be snatched up and plunked down into the dreaded water chamber of horror. They look like a couple of fawns, hiding in the woods. Body, head, ears smashed as flat as can be. The dark bodies camouflaged by the brown leather couch. But Yogi, bless my little boys heart, is standing in the middle of the room happily looking at me. I say, "Yogi, come here sweetie, it's time for your bath." "Ok Momma, I wuv you, here I come, what's a bath? can I bring my toy? pick me up Momma, I wuv you sooo much." sigh...I felt so horrible knowing in just a second he was not going to be happy with his Momma. I took him into the kitchen and start to lower him into the sink of warm water and his eyes started bugging out and he stuck his feet straight out to avoid the water. When he saw that wasn't going to work, he pulled them into his body as tight as he could. Finally he realized he had to put them down in order to keep his body out of the water. Poor Yogi Bartholomew Bear...about the only thing that he really hates is getting his feet wet. But he manned up and stood there like a good boy and let me bathe him. All interest in his toy was lost, no amount of coaxing to play with it would distract him from the horrible fact that...his...feet...where...wet... DH came into the kitchen just as we were almost finished and told him what a good boy he was being to stand there so quietly. "Poppa, tell Momma I'm clean enough and to stop, pleaseokthankyou." Finally done and wrapped up snugly in a towel off to the bathroom we head to be dried. After it was all said and done, I pick him up and ask, "Yogi, do you still love your Momma?" My good little boy replied, "Yes Momma, I wuv you, but please don't do that to me again, ok?" He gives me a quick kiss on the nose and a little hug then off he goes to tell big sis & bro the harrowing experience he just 'barely' lived through. At some point I'm thinking he's going to understand what the word 'bath' means and will run and hide with the other 2. But for now, my sweet boy is the only one that comes when I call them for their bath time.

| Yogi, since your momma is so mean, you wanna come stay with me? He wouldn't like it any better here. This weekend was bath time for all five of mine. Poor little Tate hasn't learned what it means when mommy starts running the water and bringing bath towels into the kitchen. The poor fella gets suckered into being first every time. I nearly couldn't catch Murphy for his bath - he's getting too smart for his mom.

| bathe time What a cute story, as I was reading, I was picturing my five on bath day. Harley, the oldest one runs outside and hides as soon as he see "the dreaded green towel". Scooter (1/ 1/2) knows and he cowers in the corner, Rita (6 yrs old) has a bad leg (slight LP) and can't run too fast, good for me, she's usually my first "volunteer", LOl. Bandit & Peanut are the new puppies and so far can't put two & two together yet (attention span of a gnat) so they usually get 2nd & 3thd place. What's funny is while they are shaking & trembling in the sink, convinced Mommy is going to drown them, as soon as they get out, they are running around all happy! Is it because they are happy to be clean or happy to be alive and not drowned!

| I too enjoyed reading a bath time story! LOL What do they do when they see the grooming tools of torture! And the implements of destruction - the nail clippers! |

| that was a great story! My Suzi, as soon as she sees the hair brush it is all over. Hides , just to be brushed. I have to get help from my son to go and get her. I know Suzi is so smart. It is as if she knows what i am up to , before I can even start. Suzi like s the water though, goodness she use to play in her water bowl as a puppy. But, now, anytime Suzi senses that MOM is up to no good , she is off , hiding .

| hahaha...I loved reading your story. It could have been a story of my "Bear". I learned to give him the first bath because if I bathe Daisy first, Teddy Bear dissappears under the bed for the rest of the day. Daisy on the other hand loves her bath and will scratch at the bathroom door while Teddy gets his bath. She wants me to take Teddy out of the tub and give her a bath. She loves her bath. Go figure.

| What a cute story! You said it so well....I could see my furbutts doing the same thing! They run when they hear the bath water running. Funny thing is though, once I'm in the tub they know they are safe and come and watch me take my bath. These little toots are pretty darn smart! |

| My Jack follows me everywhere, but if I go into the bath room he waits at the door LOL He hates bath time and being brushed. Ceci and Angel come running when you say "who wants a brush" but are not very happy with bath time.

| Very cute, and well told story I was worn out at the end of it 'though lol...I only have one to bathe, and I only do it every two weeks, because I always think it's such a chore...lol...However, when it's over, I think "that wasn't so bad"!! And here you have almost 1/2 dozen to do...However, if you have any spare time, you should either be story-telling, at the library, or writing a children's book...With all the money you can make on your book, your "assistant" could bathe the dogs |
