| Need some advice Hey guys.. So I was talking to DH about starting to groom Peanut on my own, and he said that I cant just go get "regular" clippers I need "dog clippers" soooo I need a good brand of clippers..I dont want anything FANCY, and outragous in price... Maybe something under $120..if not lower.. if I can get something good for $100 even better!! Also.. Do you guys pluck the hair out of your furbabies ears? What would I need for that? I know when I worked at the vet they used that powder stuff and a tweezer thing.. I dont really want to do that with Peanut.. Oh also I need a good pair of sissiors... So when I clip his beard and eyes.. and all that good stuff!! Thanks!!

| Honestly - we bought a pet clipper kit at Wal-Mart for like $25 & it works great! We keep our yorkies' hair in a puppy cut. We use the scissors that came with our clipper kit on the paws & around the face. We actually use our fingers to pluck the ear hair (vet showed me how to do that), and use an ear cleaning solution that we bought from the vet. People actually ask us where Buster & Bailey get their haircuts and we get to proudly say that we gave them their haircuts - that's kinda fun!!

Wow!! Thats soo good!! Do you know the brand of it, so I can look if my walmart has it. I have some ear solution that I got from the vet, I will clean his ears out when I give him a bath. Do you have a picture of your furbutts after your groomed them?

| I have an Andis AGC 2 speed clipper that I bought at Petsmart and I love it! It has a quiet motor so it doesn't freak my Cocker girl out. I plan to use it to groom my Yorkie girl when I get her I paid around $120, but figure it was well worth the initial investment since I'm not paying a groomer every month! |

| You can also get a WAHL clipper at Sally beuty supply and haircutting scissors. I do everything--I have hair scissors, clipper and tweezers for the ear hair. I also bought the cleaning solutions at our pet store. It saves us so much money! |

| We have this: Conair Dog Clippers - Grooming - Dog - PetSmart It's $18.99 and does fine on the ears and um.. sanitary clips. It's the small black micro one. I've also got small pet shears for the face and other trims. For the nails we use the Pedi Paws with no problem. |

Thats the one I had in mind.. Then DH said I should get a better one for his body... so I am not sure. Do you use that for the body or no?

| I just use good old scissors for Uni. Well I am growing out her hair, but on her ear tips, and lady parts, i still use scissors. i make her "stay" till I'm done. We tried a buzzer on her when we were cutting off her baby black hairs and she was soooooooooooo scared! We had her on her back and told her to stay. Her back legs were shaking she was so scared! So we tried to make it fast. Never used clippers after that!

| I just checked - it's a Wahl clipper. We bought a kit & it came with the clipper, scissors & some cleaning stuff for the clippers The only thing I would do differently would be to buy a cordless clipper, because the cord is quite annoying. It does the job though & we won't be paying for cordless clippers anytime soon. I have no idea how to post a picture in this response, but I will add a pic in my photo album that shows their most recent grooming. We like taking before & after pics!

I've used it to shave areas that were injured on foster dogs and needed cleaning with no issues. | |
