| I have about an hour to decide I swore I'd never do it but I have to take Tyler to petsmart to be groomed.... probably just cut since I'm perfectly capable of washing him myself. Anyways.... he's def. getting that butt of his shaved cause i'm sick of having to cut poo out of his hair. and i'm thinking his tummy.... so should i just get his whole body shaved? if you remember i had to cut out TONS of matts so his hair is all uneven anyways ): he stayed at grandma's and got that way. so shave and just tell them to leave his head alone? i'm so vain when it comes to him but i want him to look nice! Thanks guys... |

| Well, I am a Petsmart groomer hater so if you have no other choice than to take him there I wouldn't leave him alone. How old is he and is this his first real grooming? The grooming always includes a shampoo so I would take advantage of that for sure. IMO I would let the groomer decided if he really needs to be shaved. They have dematting tools that can be used so he really might not be as bad as you think. Usually, I ask my groomer for the "sanitary package" who of course she knows means the butt and the underside of their body around the private area. If you want the topknot be very specific that they are not to touch that area. Ask for the ears to be "tipped" and if they need to shave him specify to leave the face long. Post some pics when he comes home

| Why dont you get a little of both. Say you want a puppy cut on his face..that will leave you with some hair.. and tell them you want like a trim on his body, legs and you want a sanitary cut on his bum and wee wee! I get pnuts hair on his body 1/4 if that makes sense to you and I tell them to give him a puppy cut on his face

| I wouldn't leave him alone with the groomer. Stay right there so you intervene if they start to cut something you don't want cut or done a certain way. Good luck!

| I think if you are nervous about taking him to Petsmart and you are second guessing it then you should look around for a groomer you TRUST!!

| Yeah if I were you I wouldnt stress on only having an hour to make up your mind. I think you should research and find a groomer you trust and like, rather than taking him to Petsmart. Plus it is his first gromming trip so you want it to be the best for him and feel comfortable.

| I've had good experiences with two PetSmart stores now so I take my Skeeter in when I can't get him in to the groomer. I just say give him a puppy cut and they do a great job. You could specifically ask them to just even him out but you will probably end up with a puppy cut just the same. |

| Okay.. I was just staring at him and I decided not to shave him. We're gonna go with the puppy cut.... and it BETTER NOT be $20 lol. He's only 5 lbs. of nothing. I think he'll do just fine since I bathe and groom him regularly... only thing I don't do is the sanitary shave. What is ear tipping? |
