| Hello! We're New Here! Hi! We are new to 'Yorkie Talk'. We just got our new Yorkie on Saturday. She is 16 weeks old and her name is "Shang Poo". She's great. She has been very easy so far. We did a lot of research on Yorkie's before we got her. She has yet to have an accident and we just take her out, tell her to "potty" and she does her business. Of course, we expect accidents, but so far... The breeder had already started this process and she is crate trained, not so much as a whimper at night. It's just too good to be true! Will this last? I'm a stay-at-home-Mom to three girls ages 6, 9 and 10. They did a lot of research before we got our first pup! I even made the older two write "reports" on the care, feeding and training of a new Yorkie pup! Wish us luck!! I really enjoy ALL the wonderful information! This is a great site with great people and all the information is invaluable!! My daughters did most of their "research" from this site!! Thanks to ALL!! |

| Welcome to YT, there is a wealth of information here and everyone is so nice. Honestly they are such smart dogs you might be suprised since she is already 16 weeks the training might go really easy for you. My brother got his first yorkie at about that age and same thing, he had been crate trained by the breeder and his Rocky just picked it right up when he got him home....of course he had accidents but for the most part it went easy.......I have to say KUDOS to you for making your girls do the research and book reports I think that is an AWESOME way of knowing what to expect/what they are getting in to....they it is not always fun, but that baby depends on them for food, water, etc. good for you, what a great way to instill responsibility for them.

| Hi! We got the name "Shang Poo" from an episode of "Two and a Half Men" that we viewed a long time ago. The name was that of a little boy on the episode of the show! My husband and I said, "What a great name for a dog! If we ever get a dog..." So, now we have OUR "Shang Poo"! Thanks for the welcome!! |
