| Dog Park Blues! Well my DH and I recently moved into these new condos, well down the street ( about a mile 1/2) they built this wonderful dog park. They have 3, a small dog park, big dog park and then another little one..I walked Peanut to the park and no one was there so I took him in....ergh all he did was sniff everything and lift his leg on everything!!! I mean everything!!!! He loves loves to run in the grass...when we are at anyother place in the grass that no dogs have marked he will run and play with his ball with me.. When we are at the dog park all he does is sniff and pee on everything!! I try to play with him and he will do it once and then sniff something and ignore me!!! Then we went over to the small dog park..he acted the same way lol Then this older lady came in with a maltese, Well the maltese stayed over by the owner, wanted nothing to do with Peanut, then this other lady came in with like 3 chiuahhas...one of the chi's ran right up to Peanut and snipped at him!! Luckly Peanut is fast and moved away!!! I am starting to get sick of the dog park, I wish he would run and play, but he doesn't and it happens everytime we go!! lol Do you guys think maybe the dog park isnt for peanut?? DH HATES the dog park he says "all it is, is letting your dogs run around in other dogs piss and poo!!" ergh! I am frustrated.. Do any of your furbabies act like Peanut?? or is Peanut a special one!! I see"Brister" Jackson in his pics and he LOVES the dog park!!

| You are not alone when Rockie goes to the dog park he is all over the place marking. He zooms around like a enegized bunny He really enjoys the dog parks. lt sounds as though your furbutt has fun there too. Rockie likes too play with some of the pups and avoids the dogs that are too aggressive sometimes. Their are some that sit by their owners and don't want to play too, l guess they have their days when they just want to watch and not play.

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | we don't have dog parks here and used to be so jealous of you guys.Seeing as I spend most of my time avoiding most dogs I am thankful we don't have any.I have a giant of a field near where I live and Tia can run with the ball till her hearts content without getting bitten or eaten lol If you and hubby do not feel comfortable there go somewhere your baby can be safe from nips.

| This is so true, our idea of them having fun is completely different from theres. lt's so funny when Rockie is at the park he has so much fun running and playing with the other dogs. Your furbutt is having his fun the way he wants too.

We always will walk to the dog park just bc it is so close and peanut has like tons of energy, When you take Rockie to the dog park or just a regular walk for that matter do you wash his mouth and feet off with a baby wipe?? Because when we get home from the dog park esp I feel peanut is soooo dirty and he comes on the couch and the bed with those dirty pee feet!! Lol so I will usually give him a bath if it has been over a week 1/2 but if it hasnt I will wipe him down with a baby wipe!! Am I crazy??

| No, you are absolutely not crazy, when Rockie goes out in my yard to potty when he comes back in the house Rockie gets his feet, stomache, face and pooh area wiped with his wipes It's just personal preference because he is always in our beds. Once he was outside and there was a little worm on his leg when he came from outside so its always a must for our papa to get cleaned after he comes from outside.

| Couver loves the dog park. He spends his time chasing and playing with all the other dogs. I take him about 4 times a week though, so all the smells and sights are nothing new to him Everyone there is amazed at how well he does, and they call him the 'King of the Dog Park'. He might have a small body, but he has a HUGE personality. I think that if you take him consistently, the urge to pee on everything might diminish because his scent is there. I think that the dog park is an important place to take your dog. I believe that the more socialization they have the better! And if you are a good dog owner, then you pick up after your dog. The dog park is not a doggy toilet (although some people may think otherwise).

Ya know - I really think it depends on the dogs at the park, too. The one I usually take Jackson to is rated like #2 or #3 in the country for dog parks so there's always dogs there that Jackson loves and runs and plays with. But when I take him to this other smaller park... sometimes he just won't click with any of the dogs, and kind of prefers to sit back and watch everyone else (which still tires him out - hence why I take him!) I think I'm also just lucky that I'm in an area with such nice parks. The one I generally take him to is just really nice, all the people are generally really friendly as are the dogs. So I think it's just a great atmosphere and that's why Jackson has SO much fun. He just loves other dogs though no matter where he is! He's a social butterfly. I think dog parks are a really GREAT thing if they're nicely set up, and depending on the people/dogs who visit them.

I am thinking I will bring my friend next time she has a French bulldog that is Peanuts bff..maybe that will help. I took him earlier and he wasn't really into it...I don't really think he likes it lol Oh well..Peanut loves to take walks...so we will just do more of that!!

| How blessed you all are to have dog parks! I live on 15 acres and my furkids all get lots of running time, but you get to meet new people! I would love to have a dog park nearby where I could go and let my furkids run and I would get to socialize too!
