| Chloes first heat Chloe just went into her first heat last night and my poor baby looks miserable. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do for her to make this time a little easier for her? I know I should have her spayed bc I do not plan on breeding her but I am too afraid to have her put under. I've heard stories of yorkies not coming out after being put under and bc Chloe is 3.4 pounds it's kind of scary to me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! |

| Chloe is almost 11 months old. I don't know if I should clean her area nightly or if that will make things worse, I just feel so bad for her. She has been laying around all day, she usually stays at the end of the couch when I'm on it but she is staying close to me tonight. I do have a male also but he was nuetered when he was very young so he hasn't bothered her at all. |

| I know you can fashion a little panty/diaper for her. Cut a panty liner or mini pad and stick it on the diaper. That way the furniture will stay clean. A friend of mine has an unspayed female and she has panties for her and uses the mini pads. I don't see how cleaning her would hurt her, just use a wet paper towel or baby wipe.

| I do have two pairs of adorable panties for her! I just didn't know if there is anything I can do to make her more comfortable. She's become rather fiesty in the last hour, she is not a biter at all and she keeps biting my hands and jumping on my back and biting my shirt and pulling on it. She's a charecter! |

| Oh yes please clean her every night and morning. She will bleed for almost 6-7 days and then very light, she will still b in heat even after she stops bleeding, but be very careful with taking her out side, other dogs will know she is in heat. And they will go after her. never leave her alone while she is in heat. There is a web site on dogs in heat, I just can't remember the site. But please try and read on it or ask your vet for sure and let them explain it to u. Good Luck !!! bark@ulater !!!! manina, miley, sasha, max:aimeeyo rk |

| She is trained to use potty pads so I have not taken her outside at all and I do not plan on it until she is out of heat. Thank you for your help! |

| Oh poor girl, I feel so bad for them, they just don't act like they feel as good. I used baby wipes on Maddie, before bed. But she kept her self pretty clean. Just give her lots of love. As far as spaying, I felt alot better after we did it. I understand the anxiety though. Mad was not very big at all when I had her spayed. She did very well. Hugs to Chloe
