| Harness troubles So when I got Lola she had a collar, she has been on a collar since probably a pup as she had come to me with a couple collars which I threw out. I bought her a harness but the problem I am having is that it is rubbing her hair off on her chest. Is it too tight? On too long? I never had this problem with Stormy. I don't keep it on her too long, sometimes however she does have it on for a while but usually it's only when we are going for a walk. Now since this hair rubbing off I have been trying to put it on as little as possible. She has really really fine hair to begin with now she has like peach fuzz underneath. It doesn't seem to bug her and theres no redness or anything at all there. It started happening when we started using this darn harness. What can I do? YT 500 Club Member | I've just ordered Alfie & Rosie a puppia step-in harness each, is that what you mean by a vest harnass? Rosie really hates things that go over her head but wanted to wait until she got big enough so I didn't end up having to replace it a few months later. Alfie has a normal step in but with his hair growing its starting to catch on his coat. Plus I couldn't really get madam one without treating Alfie, just wouldn't be fair. |

Well that is what Lola has now, a step in harness. The vest harness are more like an actual vest.

| Sophie has a cute pink plaid vest with a black bow on the back that attaches at the chest with velcro and it's super easy to put on because it doesn't have to go over her head. It fits very well and she doesn't mind wearing it. I purchased it at Walmart for only $5.00. Jackie & Sophie |

| I've started making mine harnesses and sewing on skirts to make them look like a dress. I think they are as cute as some that I have bought. |

I know Maddie never wears her harness unless she just has too. On vaccation this year she wore it more than she ever had b/c we stayed in such a pet friendly town, I almost felt out of place without her! LOL Anyway, I guess where she doesn't wear one often, her chest was a little red by the end of the week.

| We've tried several harnesses and like the step-in harness the best. The Pupia harness fits too high on the neck, although it is advertised that it doesn't, and harnesses with velcro get caught on Prince's fur. There is a member here on yorkietalk who makes silk step-in harnesses. I think it's Chattiesmom...I'm not sure of her title, but she has several posts about her products. I think she is from Georgia.

| We go for about hour-two hour walks each day so she has it on the whole time and occasionally a little longer if I don't take it off right away. Sometimes I would leave it on the whole time at work, and after 2-3 days at work with it on most of the day I noticed her hair missing. So now I have been taking it off once we get to work.. I went to our Walmart and no vest harnesses Do you think a Silk one would not rub off hair? |

| We are having the same problem with Zeus and his harness. He wears it a lot because we walk twice a day and he wears it at night because I leash him to take him out in the middle of the night. I started to remove it more often. I am looking into an Ezy dog harness and I think this may be one of the better ones I have looked at. Look it up on google. Best wishes and let me know if you find something you like. |

| Puppia Vest This is the Puppia we use on Snickers and it works very well. When Snickers pulls, he does pull hard it he makes that weird dog cough sound, but he did that with reg step in's as well. We LOVE this vest type of harness and Puppia uses a really nice velcro, so Snick's hair does not ever get caught in it. Snick is only 3.5lbs so I had to search for an Xsmall, but I found one and it's perfect, I also have a size Small as well, but it's too big on him. Amazon.com: Puppia Vest Dog Harness Pink Medium:... Good Luck -Snick & Viv
