| New member Hi everyone. I am new to this site and was looking for a forum to join. I have a yorkie named Roxy who just turned 2. In the past couple of weeks when my girlfriend has left the room she peed on her bed. Tonight was the 2nd time. My girlfriend just ran up to take her medicine and then right back down. Has anyone else dealt with something like this and is she doing this out of spite? Thanks in advance everyone. |

| Hello and Welcome to YorkieTalk! We are glad you are here. Yes, I have had that problem a couple of times with my rescue girl. Not sure why. So, now if I cannot supervise, I put her in the crate or keep her on a leash, next to me, in the house. Also, try to stick to the same routine everyday. Hope things improve for you.

| She isn't new tomy gf. She got the dog at 8 weeks old. I am around a lot and this happens when I am not around. I am thinking she might get mad when my gf leaves the room. I don't know that for sure and she is getting mad at this happening for obvious reasons |

| I had a Sharpei many, many years ago that did the spite peeing when I left her. She too, pee'd on my bed. She was potty trained in every other way, just did not like being left alone. I finally had to make sure to leave her in the Florida room (which was tiled) whenever I left. Then she did not do it, so it was my bed she was fixated on. My dachshund used to strain to poop a little in the hallway whenever we would leave her. She finally grew out of it but she, too, was doing it in a spiteful way. You could tell she did not really have to go, it would be the smallest amount squeezed out just to let us know she did not appreciate being left alone. I am not sure it is really spite, or if it is anxiety or just them being unhappy about us not being with them. But since they seem to do it intentionally, it is difficult to train them out of it. I would just take them to the scene of the crime, tell them "no" in a firm manner, then take them outside to their potty place. Since the time could be way off from when they did it, I don't know if even that sunk in. But you can tell they know it was "naughty" by their actions. I don't know anything I ever did ended the problem. I removed one from being able to get to my bed, and the other just quit as she got older and maybe more secure that we would always return. Sorry not to be able to offer any advice only empathy!

| thanks debra. Yea she is potty trained every other way, but the peeing in the bed. If she is bad we know it because she hides from us. We will have to keep a better eye her and hopefully break her of it. It is just wierd that she hasn't done it for 2 years and just started. Could it be a UTI. She is only really having accidents on the bed though. |

| Welcome to YT!!! My Halle did that a couple of times when she was pregnant. Never has since, she is 2 and a half. I had a friend whos yorkie did #2 in her bed, it was after her 1st grandchild came along. Jealousy? Good luck in breaking this habit.
