| I am so sorry you have to make that decision I had looked into moving to Australia for a few years, and I was ready to go through with it until it came down to the animal laws. I couldn't bare to take Layla on such a long plane ride under the cabin and then need to put her in quarantine for months! I wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide. If I were you I'd probably do anything, even if it meant moving somewhere else for 6 months.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | that's horrible. My sister and husband faced a similar but less permanent situation with their cat. My BIL had to moved back to Australia a few years ago for a job and of course my sister was going with him. They have a cat that they wanted to bring with them. He was allowed to go but there was a certain protocol regarding vaccines, microchips, and bloodwork that they needed to follow before he was allowed in the country. He even needed to be shipped a certain way and by certain companies. After getting into the country he would have needed to stay in quarentine for at least a month, maybe 2, i really don't remember. The quarentine place was actually really nice and my sister was allowed to visit everyday. In the end they opted to leave the cat here with me instead of bringing him because bailey was a huge baby and very sensitive. They were worried he wouldn't survive the plan ride and then the quarentine. They did come back to the US 2 years later and bailey is living with them again (and i got morgan when they took bailey hehe). The US has rabies disease as well so i don't understand why turkey would be excluded but not the US. Are you sure there is no way for you to bring dolce with you, even if she has to be quarentined for a short period? I know even that would be tough and another decision all together whether that would be best for a puppy but at least it would be another possible option.

| Could someone in the US foster him for 6 months then give him back to you? Just a random thought....

| Oh, no. I can't believe it! There must be some way around this. Do you know someone in an acceptable country who would take him for 6 months? And he is such a sweetie. This really is breaking my heart. There must be some solution. When told that if we had to be evacuated for some reason, Samantha couldn't go, I said then I wouldn't either. But that's not an option for you. I think I'll do some research ... Vivian |

| The US has several military bases in Turkey and, technically, they are considered US soil. So what if you found a foster parent on one of the military bases for 6 months? Every base my husband and I have ever been on has a veterinary facility so Dolce wouldn't lack for good care. Would that be acceptable? There's got to be a way.

| Hmm.. I would be willing to foster him for 6 months as long as you covered his flea medicine/heartgard, vet visits, and handled all the paperwork and flying/transport costs. I could handle toys/treats/food/etc. I was going to foster for a rescue but if you need me send me a PM. I have one Yorkie and do dog sitting, so I will have probably one other dog here. Oh, he has to be semi-well behaved. Not bark too much, and friendly with dogs/people and our cat. If you think this would work I will have to confirm with my parents that it is ok.
