| I can't quit crying I know it's almost time to say goodbye to Buddy. He slept in this morning and is not eating. I know the time has come but, it's so hard to let go of my best friend of 16 years. I love him so much |

| I'm so, so very sorry. Buddy has had a wonderful life with you, and you with him, but it's always too soon to let go. I'm crying and praying for you, and for Buddy. Please know that we're here if you need us.

| OMG my heart is breaking for you. I remember like yesterday the two times I was in your shoes. Hold him close, tell him you love him and know he will be once again happy and healthy at Rainbow Bridge. 16yrs is a true blessing that the two of you had together. So many wonderful memories only you get to remember. Hopefully that will bring you some comfort. Hugs, |

| Just went through it Just wanted you to know that though it's very hard to say goodbye and to admit that your pets time has come, it does get easier, and the pain does start to lesson with time. Last summer we put down my golden retriever of 14 years, she was the BEST dog i've ever known, but she quit eating and just acted sick everyday. My dad finally couldn't stand to see her suffer anymore and he knew the time had come. He had my cousin take Ruger to the vets to have her put down, because he couldn't bear to do it himself. (maybe this is an option for you as well) I've known about my father crying twice in his life, when Ruger had to go, and when i got married...i'm so teary eyed right now hon. i know how hard it is, coming home still to this day almost a year later, i wonder where her kennel is, and wish i could play with her again. i honestly believe that dogs are in Heaven, after all, God gives us the desires of our hearts in heaven and i know my desire is to have my Ruger back by my side. i hope this helps you to feel a little better, it's gonna be a rough time, and it's not easy to make that call and let go, hug him a lot in the next day or two, and call around maybe to see if someone else can manage the trip for you, i don't think any owner should have to be the ones to take that last drive, but if you have the strength to go on your own, good luck! i wish you the best, you are in my prayers, and just vent on here when you need a shoulder to cry on, we're here for you. Rejoice in the time you've had and the joy he has brought into your life, and you will find that there is still some laughter in there between the tears. God Bless you and prayers be with you as you make this decision and go through this time. |
