| Suggestions for tomorrow So me and bf are going to Comic Con tomorrow, yay! BUT we didn't get a hotel so Uni will be staying at home. MIL is working at the OC fair tomorrow, and BIL works too at his shop starting at noon. Do you think I should ask them to look after her before and after work? Or should I assume they can't be trusted and don't ask them anything. We are leaving by 7am the latest. Usually we don't get up til about 9am, so Uni will still be sleepy by the time we are leaving, and I know for a fact she won't want to eat anything before we go. Normally she eats at snack breakfast (half boiled egg white, one teaspoon cottage cheese, one baby carrot, + her omega 3 supplement) at 11am. Then around 3 or 4 she eats lunch (kibble) then at 10 or 11pm dinner (kibble with canned mixed in +cosequin pill). We usually go to bed around 1 am. We probably won't get home till about 1am. She never eats when she is home alone. Any suggestions of what I should do? Just free feed for the day? I'm worried there will be a big roach crawling in her food and she will get sick or worse. Also I'm worried if someone tries to break in, there is no alarm system. Some people tried to jump the fence a few weeks ago, but the bull terrier scared them off. And the rat terrier always looks like he wants to kill Uni (he's very old and getting senile, doesn't remember who we are ) There is a sun room where I can lock the door to keep the dogs all seperated, but I can't guarrantee it will stay closed b/c MIL and BIL will be leaving after us and maybe they could forget to lock it. Or should I take her to the shop where i know she will be 100% safe and no bugs there, but no human contact all day till we get back? Both ways kind of suck. Oh she is indoor pad trained at both places so peeing is not a problem. and is missing one day's worth of her supplements not a biggie? Am I making this a bigger deal than it is?

| i would try to keep her on as close to the same schedule as you possibly can and somehow gate/separate her from the other dogs and tell the people you live with to make sure they keep it that way. leave her with a toy that hides a treat inside so she might be kept busy, and try to get her to eat what you normally feed her, i'd say vitamins and all, maybe leave out a little kibble and plenty of water for her. do you have an exercise pen? those are great when you have to be away. just try not to change her routine as much as you can help it. |

| When needed we leave Alfie at home, freefeeding and big bowl of water, he is used to it now, in the wild dogs sometimes go without food for a day or more, although domesticated they don't normally go without, i would suggest as you did leave her in your shop, she knows the place so is comfy with the layout, she will be safe in there, leave a large bowl of water, no pads, let her be free and clean up later. She will be glad to see you come home as they all do, and will want a big fuss at 1.00 am in the morning And you will be fretting all day Believe me, she is tougher than you think, lots of love before and after |

| Man, now bf wants to rent a room at someone's house (a casita actually detached from the main house) $50/per night. I don't want to leave Uni for that long! he wants to go down there tonight and come back sunday morning. I said why not go down tomorrow morning and only stay sat night and now he's saying I'm causing trouble why can't we just do what he wants. I don't want to leave her that long! There's no a/c at our house, and I don't really trust her their with them. He says the owner's probably have extra keys and could steal Uni if she is in the casita by herself all day, which is true, so that's why I don't want to bring her with us. He's making it seem like San Diego is soooooooo far away, it's only 1 1/2 hours. Our original plan was just to stay sat night, but couldn't get a room for less than $50, then we were just gonna go down for the day and come back that night. Now he's even looking at renting beachfront houses for 3 days! We can't afford that and he's getting mad at me for being a partypooper! I'm mad.
