| breeder selling dogs that are not the size she said they will be Hi im new here and been scammed by a breeder. Let me tell you my story. I know there is no such thing as a teacup yorkie i got it but there are smaller yorkies out there that go for more money than a standard size yorkie that is like 5 to 6 lb full grown. In my area i can get a yorkie that size for 500-600 bucks. But i wanted a relly small baby. so i decided to look on the internet. i found a nice lady that i talked to a bunch of times and was really nice. She had a add on kijiji which said she has a male yorkie that will be around 2 pounds full grown and she was asking 1300 for him. she told me the last time she took him to the vet he was was 1lb 2 oz at 14 weeks. The day before i got him she said she took him to the vet and he weighed 1lb 10oz at 19 weeks. So i was told and purchased my puppy with the assumption that when i get him he will be 1lb 10 oz this is why i paid so much for him. when i got him the day after he was 2lb 6 oz. I am really upset and thinking about taking this lady to court about this i have papers stating she said he weighed that much and also on his vet papers the vet made and the weight was scratched out i tried to call the vet she took him to but the woman i got the dog from will not release his information to me. I think i need to take this woman to court this i wrong. She said she will not refund my money or anything.her name is Evelyn Marie Dutton The AKC papers say the owner was Ruth S Cornish from wittmann arizona. there was also another name of Teresa Krum the one who signed the dog onto the plane. the dog is healthy and cute but he is not what i paid for. she knows smaller dogs go for more money and she is selling average size yorkies to get more money. I have tried to be nice to her but now she is threatening me on making a police report on me. |

| should i file a police report in my state and hers? I don't know for sure where to start. I never had a problem like this. I do want to take her to court for this i don't like scammers and this puppy stuff on the internet needs to stop. She thinks im just going to let it go as so many other breeders and people that sell dogs falsely. She told me she was going to let this little thing go but now she wants to report me because im harassing her. What?? I just gave you 1300 for a dog and it wasn't the dog i paid for and im harassing her. Im not going to take this from her i never had a legal issue before so any advice will help me thank you. |

| Congratulations on your new puppy. Do you like the dog, by the way? How is his health? Has he made you smile yet? |

| Whoaaaaa, slow down. Your puppy is small. I got Jemma at 9 weeks and she was 2 pounds. She is done growing now at 8 months and weighs a big 4 pounds. When you say you wanted small, how small are you talking 1 1/2 pounds? First off that's not likely to happen. Second, you don't want it to happen. Smaller pups can have a host more of medical problems. Thirdly, there can be no gurantee on size. A breeder can only hope that her breeding small ones will produce what she wants. But you never know. Breeding isn't always a sure thing as to the outcome. Maybe one of the dogs in the line was bigger and this pup pulled that gene. This breeder isn't going to know that when it's born. You might even getting criticized for buying over the internet. I'm not going to judge you on that. But you took the chance, know what I mean? There are no guarantees on dogs except for maybe genetic defects or hereditary problems. Did she give you a health guarantee on the pup? For how long? You may not believe this but if the pup is health and only weighs a little over 2 pounds and is registered AKC, you didn't do so bad. I don't like the fact that there was a scratch out on the weight. But truth is? You've got a small pup. That is not big at 5 months. Are the parents registered AKC?

| I hope this isn't going to affect how you feel about this puppy. If you don't like the puppy especially since it's not as small as you'd like, please sell or rehome he/her to someone who will love her as she/he is. I'm not saying you don't like her, but if it's a possibility then I would rethink keeping the little one. Just for both your sakes. Also, while you're here, why not read all the info here on breeding, buying and a host of other topics that are covered. You can get quite a education. good luck! I hope all works out. As far as court goes, I'm sorry but I don't think you have a chance there. Just my opinion only. All I have said above is just my opinion.

| You must be Bunnycup right? You already filed a claim with Ripoff and signed it buttercup? I tried to do a search on this woman and came up with nothing negative on her except your complaint. I can't find any negatives or complaints on any of the others either. I didn't check the transporters name though, because she is probably just that. Transports the dogs to the airport. Is there a Kennel name they have?

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I can understand why your mad. You didn't think the breeder would lie about the weight but it does happen and I'm sorry it happened to you. You didn't do anything wrong but believe what the breeder told you. I know that you're mad right now but maybe before you do anything else think about what you want to happen from here. Do you want to keep the puppy? Do you want to return the puppy? Really think about it....I'm curious about the contract as well. Also, I'm not sure how many times you've contacted the breeder but you should be able to contact the breeder especially if she sold you a dog claiming to weigh a certain amount and the pup gets delivered at a different weight. It sounds like she's just trying to scare you into letting it go. It really isn't fair to you. I'm pretty sure there is a way to return the dog and get your money back. If that's what you want to do? Having said all that, I have to agree with Jemma too. You didn't get a bad deal for an AKC pup and the little dogs are so much more fragile and sometimes not as healthy etc etc but you have to live with the dog and if it's not what you want then you shouldn't have to keep the pup. The term "Teacup" is a marketing tool used by some people to sell their overpriced runts of a litter anyway. They should be cheaper not more money. I'm sure this has a lot to do with the way the breeder handled the situation. Curious, did you weigh your pup at the vets office or on a home scale? Some scales are different.

| WOW!! Ya know the "genes" factor??? There is no way a person can guarante the size of a person or dog, cat, bird..... I have a son that is 21 and is still growing! He is 6ft 3. I am 5ft 6 and tall for my family, his dad was a big 5ft 10. Same goes for animals. If you can't love the baby the right way..try to sell him and recoup some of your losses. Then you buy a pup that is 18 months old that is FULL GROWN and you will end up with what you want.

| I feel bad for you and hate it that you feel you got ripped off. What I don't understand is how you think you can get an puppy at 19 weeks (which is less than 5 months old) that weighs 1lb 10ounces and how you expect him to gain only 6 ounces and be a full grown 2lb dog?? That to me is very unrealistic. Do you realize how small a 5lb dog is?? My Mazee is under 6lbs and to me, she is a small dog-I love her size becasue she is able to run and play and is not a fragile dog. What do exactly want out of her? money? If you do go to court and she offers you your money back for the return of your dog, are you willing to do that? What is your puppy's name?? I would love to see pics of him, I bet he is adorable! I personally would call it a lesson learned and just go on, love my dog and wouldn't cause myself the grief of messing with court-but hey, that is just me

| Although as a breeder myself I can tell you that it is really hard to predict the exact weight of a puppy, it look like in your case , the breeder is misrepresenting the puppy. You dog should still be under 4 lbs what is really small, enough to be carry around in a purse. If you want it a VERY SMALL dog, here you go, you got one. Just enjoyed your new baby as he is. I think the breeder should give you some compensation. since the dog was already bigger then he suppose to become adult when you got him. That doesn't look like a mistake to me... As others already told you, if you are not happy with the dog , re home him or something. He deserved to be love... Very sorry you have to deal with that crap... Good luck with everything. |

| The breeder probably was only guessing and that is the best we can do and most of us make no sizze guarantees. That would be foolish. Someone contacted me the other day and wanted a puppy that would weigh 7lbs. I told them to go buy them an adult dog. That is the only way to get the size you want. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I think the OP is mad because the breeder she got her dog from lied about the weight and it appears that she changed the weight on the paperwork from the vets. She also said she could get the same size dog where she lives for less than half what she paid for a dog she was told would be smaller. I've never heard anyone guarantee an adult weight either but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. Sugarsmom, OMDogz! I went to look at the pics of your dogs and they are beautiful!!!!! Do you show them? Sorry, took a little rabbit run

| You bought this dog from a broker? How long did you research and search for your dog? How long were you in contact with this broker? Did you contact anyone else who had bought from this person for a referral? I could be wrong but I get the impression you are more concerned with having a purse puppy then you are about the dog.
