| Need Guidance So me and my fiance are moving to a town home at the end of August in Bloomindale, IL where we can finally own a dog. We've wanted a Yorkie for years since my mother purchased one and are aware of all the quirks, good and bad. We have many other kid free friends that we go camping/hiking with dogs etc. I've been investing a lot of time in how to make this sucessful as I know with two working owners we will have to work extra hard to make sure the pup does well. I have developed a "game plan" and wanted to share and see if anyone was interested in providing any feedback. First of all, finding a breeder. I will only purchase a male Yorkie that I can pick up locally, hopefully a couple hours or less drive. I have found lists of AKC breeders in Illinois and have sent out a couple of emails to try and see what puppies will be 12 weeks or older in late August. I understand this will be expensive, but I hate the fact that besides AKC I have nothing to go on as far as reputable other than "more expensive probably equals better" Yes I've searched the forums for this, I can't pass up the opportunity that someone might read this and offer some personalized advice or tips on local breeders. First month my fiance will be home most of the time. After that we both work during the day which I don't anticipate will be a problem once the pup is raised however initially I will be terrified to leave him home alone. I am thinking that a baby pen with the puppy matts in our bedroom will help to avoid any dangers or mishaps and I like that idea better than cramming him in a cage. We are prepared to dish out money for training and hope that we can raise him to standards that we can eventually leave him free to roam the home while were working. We have a puppy run right outside that will be perfect for walks and potty however I was looking into the some of the commercial balcony sod "potties" like petapotty for quick releases to cover all bases. Thanks! We can't wait. Hopefully only another 45 days or so. Tim |

| Hi and to Yorkie Talk! Good luck on your search. Sounds like you have a pretty good game plan and will be a very good mommy.
