| I really need some advice.... Hey everybody, I am needing some advice. This has really nothing to do with my furbaby but it deals with one of my family members pup. Just yesterday I found out that my cousins dog was brutally killed. His dog was a Lab and now im trying to find out if it is legal or illegal for sumbody too shoot a dog with no remorse and a shotgun, because the dog was on his yard. Where we live its a very small town where everybody knows everybody and im upset that this person could have gave the owner a phone call and he would have gone and picked up the dog. This inncident has not happened once but twice and the same person. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

| Sorry to hear that this has happened! This may or may not help you, but we had a Pitbull come in our yard and attacted our lab and britney. We hit the dog with a baseball bat and it ran off. Now, when we call the cops and they finally showed up. They told us that it is our right to shot the dog if it is agressive and in OUR yard. You can not shot it in the street, or othes yard, has to me in our yard. People have to keep there pet in there yards where we live and it is a small town also. This dog never did show up again. |

| I understand that if a dog is attackin u, u have ever right to fight back no matter what. But this dog meant no harm to anybody. He just happened to be on a neighbors yard. But this guy has tried shooting a chihuahua and now he kills my cousins dog.

| The dog was attacking our dogs, but never hurt them. He never went after us. The police just told us that we have a legal right to keep dog off our yard. Now, if that was because he went after our dog, I am not sure. I think maybe you need to see if this town has oridinance for dogs to stay in the yard. Then I would contact the police or an attorney to see if the guy had a legal right to shot the dog. Let us know what you find out! |

YT 1000 Club Member | The police should at least check him out if nothing else can be done to see if he has a valid gun owners permit. Sounds like he's violent enough he shouldn't even have a gun!!

| The guy sounds like a nut... Be careful! I'm the 1st one to defend my dogs, and my family, but anyone that shoots a dog just because it's there is evil! |

| I agree This guy is evil and you know what I really dont think he has a gun license, I believe hes only about 20 yrs. old. But yeah this guy is psycho, hes been in and out of trouble for the last 3 years as I can remember. I called the ASPCA and I think they will be able to do something. But I'm going to keep fighting for something to be done. I just imagine it being my furbaby. I would go crazy. Thanks for all the Support.

| Hi, I did a google search and found a site that said it is illegal in all 50 states to shoot a dog just because it is on your property. The only time it's allowed is if the dog is a threat to you or your livestock. And if you claim your livestock there has to be blood proof. I'd call the police and find out more. |
