Lost Yorkie Hi, I just joined this Community to get help and support around my lost Yorkie. I have a 7 y.o. Yorkie, Buster, a 12 y.o. mini Poodle, Lily, and up until yesterday had a sweet 2 y.o. Yorkie, Olive. She ran from our groomers after her collar was not securely put on. They feel terrible and have been helping us search for Olive. My family and I are heartbroken. Olive was lost in a large industrial area and is probably scared and hiding. I have posted lost flyers in all the businesses in the area and have knocked on homes as well as hung flyers in the area. My husband and I went out at 5am this morning with Buster to look, but to no avail. We have also posted on Craigs List, Petfinder, and Find Toto. We have contacted the police stations in the surrounding towns and will call the animal control officer tomorrow. We live in Massachusetts and the groomer's shop is in Westwood. Does anyone have any ideas about how to cope with this, or ideas about how to find her that we haven't thought of. I have friends looking as well, but the area is so big and she is so small (5 pounds) that she could be hiding anywhere! I hate the thought that she is cold, wet and scared. Thanks.

I hope you find your baby. Have you checked all the vets in that area and all the animal shelters, spca etc. Please check and recheck every day! So he wont be rehomed. Is he chipped?

My Mom had a similar thing happen with her silky terrier years ago. Something scared her at the groomer and she bolted. They searched for hours and didn't find her. My brother went back and kept looking in the same places and he eventually found her in the woods near the kennel. She was a swampy mess and soaked and scared but okay. My only suggestion based on that (and thinking that everything you've done sounds great) is to continue to search in the area around the groomer because she may have been too frightened at first to come but will be willing to come right away now.

| So sorry this happened to you. This is the second time in recent months I have read this same thing happening at a groomers. They need to double gate their areas and make sure they take better precautions to avoid this! Here is a link to a "stickie" with ideas to help when you lose a yorkie: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...st-yorkie.html

I want to send a prayer's for you to find your Olive. I would check all the vet's in the area, shelters and pounds and go back to the original location daily to search for her. Also call the police in the area and let them know she's missing in case they get a call about a found yorkie. Put flyer's on all cars everywhere, post one on bulliten boards in supermarket's etc. Please keep us posted. I hope you find her soon, That grooming salon needs to update their security. I would hold them fully responsible! Olive was in their care when she went missing.
