| What's wrong with my little Baileys fur!? I don't know what is going on with Bailey's fur, especially on the top of his head, it looks very stingy and greasy looking. His body isn't bad, it is quite fluffy. I gave him a bath last night and it still looks dirty. Anyone know if this is normal? I just came from a check up at the vet and Bailey is now 1.4 lbs!! He will be 11 weeks on Sunday

| I've only had 2 yorkie puppies but when they were 11 weeks they were just a ball of hair. I would be a little concerned with thinny of hair on a puppy so young.

| Tiny little baby! He is adorable too! Don't worry about that stringy looking hair on top of his head. They go through that phase where it looks sort of thin and stringy. But that is actually a good sign. He will most likely have a nice silky coat! My Ben was the same way. He looked like a ragamuffin for a while, especially as the hair on top turned from black to silver to tan. But now, he has a nice, silky full coat. If the hair always looks full and thick on top of the head as a puppy, it is more likely that they will have a cotton or combination coat. It is absolutely normal for it to look thin, sparse, and a little stringy on top of the head at this stage and for at least another month or two.

YT 1000 Club Member | It is normal and some just don't have super thick hair. Roxie was never curly or thick. One nice thing about this is that she never matts or tangles. Her hair is still thin on her head and I envy those of you who can do the nice thick top knots. I'll post a pic of Roxie at 10 weeks when we first brought her home. You can see her hair looked a little oily and thin too.

| This is exactly how my Pebbles looks. She always looks like who did it and ran. I always say she looks like a little chick who just came out of her egg. Messy, messy. Also very thin. When I put a little band in the top it is so thin. She just turned 1 so maybe this is it or it will thicken. Who Knows!!

YT 1000 Club Member | lol on the who did it and ran!! Roxie also has always been more straight and not curly or fluffy. I believe they call it wire coat. It doesn't feel like wire but it's just straighter. Maybe that's why it doesn't matt.

| Shayna's hair does the same also, but hers looks greasy on top of her head when her back is fluffy and fairly clean. I thought it my be my constant head pettying. Could they really have a mixed coat? |

| Hi Darlene, my Baxter did the same thing also. And even now it looks full, but still feels thin. Your guy Bailey is such a cutie

| Can anyone explain why it only looks greasy on the top of their heads just days agter washing and no where else? I just curious, is it the shampoo or just the type of breed. This is my first yorkie. |
