| my new yorkie hi everyone... its my first time on here. my name is angela.... anyhow i just bought what i hope is a yorkie.... i saw the parents and they are small about 5 pounds. the puppy is soo cute, she is 9 weeks old and her coat is short and on the chest she has a few strands of hair that sticks out further. she is black and tan and has the docked tail. i am so confused. i dont see any other yorkies anywhere with this short of a coat....is this a normal? she told me the coat will grow out soon. thanks for any help.... |

| At that young age, they DO have very short coats. You can go look on my profile page for pics of my Curly Mac at that age. It takes quite some time for them to grow their long hair. Hey, if you post pics of your baby, we could have a look for you and we all love pics here! |

| What you have described sounds like a Yorkie, what did the ppl you bought your puppy tell you? Are you thinking it just doesn't look like a Yorkie? Very young Yorkies look very diferent from adult Yorkies. If you go to the Yorkshire Club of America, it will have pictures of all stages of Yorkies, maybe seeing this will reassure you, plus there are many pics here of all ages. BTW, welcome to the YT family. There is a lot of information here about everything Yorkie, so enjoy! |

| Wow she's cute as heck but I'm no expert but she doesn't look like a pure yorkie to me. I'm sure there are other more experienced people on here that could better answer your question. But boy is she a cutie!!

| I just looked at the pictures you posted and she is a little doll but she does look like she could be a Chorkie, a Yorkie/Chihuahua mix. What did the ppl you bought her from tell you. Did they sell her as a full-blood Yorkie? Do you have papers? I'm certainly no expert so this is just my observation and questions. Either way, she is a cutiepie. Why don't you talk to the breeder again and express your concerns and see what she says. It can't hurt and maybe she can clear it up for you. Last edited by camile; 06-14-2009 at 07:55 PM. |

| I'm no expert, but she looked kind of like a dachshund too me so I googled the hybrid and came up with this: Google Image Result for http://cdn-www.dailypuppy.com/media/dogs/anonymous/piper_yorkie_dachshund_08.jpg_w450.jpg Hopefully that works for you. They look similar to me, what does anyone else think? |

| I am no expert either but I think she looks part chihuahua. Did they breed them too?

| Hi there, and welcome to YT . IMO, your little puppy is first very cute However, not a purebred yorkie .If the breeder sold you a purebred yorkie, and allowed you to believe that, then she was not being honest. If she charged you for a purebred yorkie and you paid for it, you could take her to court. Did you see both parents? If your happy with your puppy keep him, but I would still talk to the breeder. She misrepresented her puppies, and sold them as something they are not. That is fraud.

| I would say yorkie and dachshund...cute tho.. but If you were told yorkie.. that was totally wrong..breeder needs to know she is not allowed to sell a purbred as a purebred when it is not.. again if you like him.. keep him.. but I so have no time for breeders that do this.. anne |
